f**k why waste your money there are already these from factory that have no problems getting insurance and have been engineered.

I don't think you have to get it engineered if you use the XR6T ECU and engine components. Aftermarket ECUs will require an EPA test I believe... phong =P~

Lots of luck trying to find an engineer who'll touch an aftermarket ECU.

Both CAPA and Raptor seem to have licked this. A 2-bar TMAP sensor and flash tune (eg CAPA/SCT flash or Chiptorque Xflash) are your friends. Look in your own backyard, have a talk to Lachlan Riddell at Chiptorque.

I thought you don't need an engineers certificate if the same model car could have come out with the mods/conversions being done? If so half the cars here are illegal. phong =P~

There is sweet f*ck all difference between engines.. Yes turbo manifold and lower compression... But yes less hassle to buy an XR6T ..BUT that wasn't the question....
This is Fordmods not financial advisers!!!

Its not just the motor, XR6T also comes with a stronger driveline, LSD with a better ratio, better suspension, rims ready for good tyres, arguable better aesetics and the list goes on.

Judging by the amount of "Can i turbo my car for $2000" threads maybe this forum should change its name |

I guess it doesn't because I got VicRoads to check it and they said since the engine number is correct with what I stated and that the engine came out of the same model car I was good. Chucked an EL XR6 motor into an EL Fairmont...*shrugs* phong =P~ EDIT:...sorry to go off topic...so back on topic. I'd say it wouldn't be worth the money to turbo the XT unless you do a whole engine conversion using the XR6T ECU that way it complies with emission standards. Running aftermarket ECU would make things a little bit more difficult when trying to get it roadworthied and engineered if need be.
