I have a ed fairmont turbo with everything done that i can think of and it keeps leaking through the head gasket, (water into the sump and bore) anyone know what mite be the prob? Tell what you have experienced.
The 1st gasket was a race series and then i bought a acl copper 1.6mm gasket and it's lasted about 5hours before it leaked, the gasket isn't broken quite perfect but i re-fitted it today using the gasket glue acl recomended as i did the 1st time and still it blew out alomost straight away.

Often when heads are ground, they end up hollow along the line of the bores. This could be the problem.Having your head "o" ringed will stop any blow by.

Yep, sounds like some damage to the head/block faces. I was under the impression that the copper gaskets were for aluminium heads and the steel were for std heads.
Re-using a headgasket is like re-using a condom.

Copper gaskets are s**t in general, pretty much impossible to seal on any car.

They have to be assembled correctly!! Firstly the head or block must be "O" ringed to seal against compression.. Then some sealant on each surface..Copper gaskets can be re used ... I use them on men with NO issues... Mine are .038 thick... The A/U gasket is fine to.... I would seriously be checking tune...Especially timing...

Yep thanks for that, i took out the spark plugs and unplugged the injectors and cranked the motor and only number 6cyl has water in it which is the same as the 1st time.

is the last piston leaning out at all?
I have seen this on a few cars, the FPR isnt up to the job and the last injector leans out and blows gaskets all the time, and at the end blows the piston. I even had it happen on my car. Also did you heat the gasket up when installing it? copper gaskets and metal gaskets need 100% even surface |
