What T70 ?

Turbo choice isnt easy so you need to decide on what you want from the motor at the end of it all. Do you just want a solid 250wkws or are you wanting alot more? Everybody says they want lots of power and quick spool but in reallity almost any large to4 sized turbo will give you this if all areas are done corectly.
When I chose my turbo I asked the turbo shop to build me a plain bearing oil cooled turbo that will support 300wkw at 14psi. My reasons for this is that Im not interested in GT ball bearing turbos as they cost alot more to rebuild, cost around $500 more than plain bearing turbos, and on big motors they really only spool a few hundred rpm earlier... the money I saved I put toward a quality wastegate, very impoportant on large motors.
Call some turbo shops and see what they have to offer

Also GT35/40 hybrid is more suited to a smaller motor such as an RB30, 1JZ... a straight GT40 is a better size for 4lt... but it all depends on wheel sizings and housings too

GT35/40 is well suited to the 4litre, as is the GT40.

I can get you a T70 for about $900 to perth. Good turbos, big power and I think they're ball bearing turbos from memory.

What's the main difference between the GT35/40 (pyorays turbo) and the GT3040 (stock XR6T turbo)? IMO the GT3040 is more than enough and has a good response for a street car.

Yes the XR6T's turbo is definatly more than enough for a street car... What Im saying about using a biiger turbo is to reduce the instant torque which is nearly always too much and shift the power up higher and also reduce boost... thats some of the benifits of a larger turbo.

The XR6 turbo is a specially made turbo for ford, but it is very similar to a GT40. There is alsorts of names for it going around... but its closest to a GT40
