it's bought, not brought. if it's running fine, you don't have to worry about how much it could run.
If you want more power, take it to a tuner and they will soon tell you what it's limit's are, and tune it to suit.

yeah its a t5, its a lot diffrent to drive to my old r33 skyline, what about the piston with low compression?

and the timimg cover case is leaking but other then that to bad of a car, its only running about 4psi now but the turbo doesnt seem to kick in like other turbo cars ive been in,

whats a rebuild kit for the bottom end worth?

realisticly if its an everyday car you only want it tuned to about 80% of its limits this way it does not generate any real stress, slightly lower comp on 1 cylinder only? what one? I'm betting no 5 or 6.
you may find the cluttch chews out your fly wheel if it generates slip. you said it had hicups, you only advised 1 small issue. what else is not quite right in your eyes?

bottom end, your looking at about 800ish for a rebuild kit, about 400 or so for machining, not doing the head, and slapping it together yourself.

ive seen complete lemons get RWC, I don't trust em, i get my own guy to inspect cars before i buy. except for this last one i got.. and i'm rebuildig the engine on that right now.

go figure. RWC don't mean s**t, pay someone to do an inspection, they should charge you about 100 or so, I know some good guys in syd nobody up your way though.independant assesment by someone other than RACQ/NRMA/whatever motoring group exists in your state is money well spent.

Sounds like its been hurt?? IMO tidy everything els up first.. What sort of ECU and injectors??
What sort of boost control??
Around 8Lb is when things come into life..
The BTR auto is best with these torque levels..
Buy another engine and slowly do that up..
We bought our last one for $174.. While picking it up others had paid over $650 for same engines..
No power shifting..
Check and or replace suspension bushes, springs and shocks.. Heaps of gains there..

It won't blow up if you don't do anything silly !!
The lower comp could be anything, maybe it has detonated due to bad / wrong tune and has broken top ring ??
It can still run along time like this .. If its got good oil pressure, runs reasonably quiet etc I wouldn't worry too much..
Is there any sign of coolant [fluorescent white colour] on block inside exh manifold.. If so ? Its a sign the head has lifted while on high boost..
Personally I would just service it well and drive it .. No point in spending good money when you don't have to.. Don't worry there are 100,000 of these engines out there!!
