Can any one tell me how thick their bracket is?
Any pics of their set up would also be appreciated.
I might start the process of mocking one up with MDF, just havent got much idea where to start.

Hey, should be plenty of pics in my user gallery.

As you can tell... the bracket was made of, i dunno... 20mm thick steel or therabouts?

Probably over engineered... but you want to eliminate the possibility of flex...

I dont imagine it needs to be the exact same dimensions...

It bolts onto the block, just above the water pump. It bolts onto the front of the power steering bracket (longer bolts needed), with p/s pump shaft coming through the bracket, there was also a bolt that goes into the back of the aircon pump on the far right hand side (rear) of the bracket.

Its one solid F**k bracket!!!

Cheers mate,
Im making a file of all the bracket pics I can get hold of to help me out.
your correct in saying it is one sold bracket!
Is it safe to asume it is a CAPA bracket?
Might be the only thing they have worth paying through the A$$ for considering the savings already made on purchases so far.
I might just give in and call CAPA yet...

Yeah its a CAPA bracket mate.

Lol, at the end of the day... it's the bracket that makes or breaks the kit... and i assume that bracket development would have represented most of the R&D costs... as well as tuning.

PM me your email address and i can send you a PDF of the complete CAPA install guide for EB-EL V8... prob got some handy information in there??

Some good pics of the bracket too.

Email sent (also sent your way dodgie, dug your email addy up)

I am not really willing to host the file for all to see, as i believe there would be copyright issues with doing so.

However, happy to email copies to anyone who wants.

Thanks Martin, got the PDF, there’s some good information there, much appreciated.
I wil go through the list and see what I have, what I dont, and what I dont need from CAPA.
I’m starting to think it’s probably is worth the cost to buy the CAPA bracket, as its probably going to cost me more in time, materials and R&D to make something that in the end, isn’t as good.
If I get the CAPA bracket, and all goes well I will still be spending around half of what the CAPA kit costs.

But having said that, I’m not going to give up and buy one tomorrow, as I still haven’t got my whole kit together, and I also have some heads coming next week that will have to go on as well.
So there’s still plenty of time to explore all the possibilities.

If someone had a bracket one could borrow I could have it looked at in China and as long as lots of people want it. Can have it mass manufactured. However I doubt that many people would want a bracket.

if someone can make up an autocad drawing of the bracket, id be able to make them pretty easily on the CNC profile cutter i run here at work.

The CAPA universal bracket is just a big square with one corner cut out and drilled for the supercharger

Don't have AutoCAD but I could try and have a crack with solidowrks 2006 if you want?

what formats does solidworks do? it would need to be .dwg .dws .dwt or .dxf (with DXF being preffered) or failing that, just dimension the drawing and send me a .jpg or bmp and i can redraw it in autocad
