Got a hurricane zorst on my ba turbo, its only from just infront of the diff back to the tips, from the standard upgraded 2 1/4'' twin system to now 2 1/2'' with smaller resonator in it and louder muffler, so sounds pretty good now, but a mate tells me that putting high flow cat on will make it a lot louder .... which im okay with!

wandering if its true?

also puttin on 4'' dump pipe will that do much to the sound aswel?

if your going from a 400cpi cat to a 100cpi cat then yes it will be louder..

i hollowed out my 200cpi cat the other day as it had collapsed,(got a replacement coming) and going from a 200cpi to a straight through cat has made the car extremely loud..

thanks for that thats sweet, cuz im wandering why mine seems a bit too quiet... what does cpi mean? is the smaller the cpi the louder? so maybe i should specify a 100cpi when i get it? and im guessing the stock is 400 cpi?

was doing more research about 100cpi cats and i hear the make the car raspier/ more tinny if thats a word lol... but i like to still keep my deep note, or do u think for a big 4.0 engine it wont make it too tinny? anyone elses sound still good with high flow cat?

I have a 200 cpi CAT on my exhaust with only one muffler, and its a little on the loud side. Maybe 10-15% louder than I would idealy have it. But yes, the low cpi CAT's do give you a very different note, better than the 400cpi in my opinion, doesnt sound like your car has a doona stuffed up the tailpipe.

It definately sounds more racey, agressive, raspy up high in the revs. Still sounds bassy and rumbly down low. Mine changes note at about 2800-3000 rpm goes from growl to howl, and then to wail from 4000 onwards. Its not a big CAT either, in respect to shape... its cylindrical, and only marginally bigger than the exhaust itself in diameter. The stock one was kinda square-ish in shape.

i have no cat and it makes things alot louder!
at the moment i have just a standard exhaust with no rear muffler and first muffler replaced with a resonator and even that is pretty loud.
my other system is 2.5" with a flow muffler and a resonator and thats loud as f**k
if i have just one muffler like most aftermarket cat backs it would be silly loud lol
the cat def makes a fair difference
