how far do you want to rev it?
and why?
With boost they'll make loads of power with out going past the factory redline.

lol the 4.0 i6 is a small scale truck motor (with obvious tech differences), its not designed to rev. its designed for low down torque. If you want revs get a v6/v8. There is just too much piston mass for the length of the crankshaft for High rpm to be feasable.

i allways reved my'n out to 6000 flat never had a dramer that was a stock moter with no limiter .. it did advenraly melt a piston and break a few rods and snap the cam but that was because off ecu malfuntoin (leaning out) and mabee lack off oil changes... but it used to pull them revs for 3 to 4 min at a time every weekend wasting tires for about a 1yr with 365555k's on it

6000rpm for 3-4 minutes at a time? I don't think your ECU malfunctioned, it would have committed suicide!

I take my BA to its rpm cutout averaging once or twice a week (never when the engine is cold). Still runs as good as when I first got it.

6000 to 6500 is ok NA. My EF is smooth and still pulling hard at 6k ({DESCRIPTION})

For boosted engine there are lots of variables that come into play but you really dont need to spin them up anyway. I'd say in any case you would want to keep it <6500 for a modified bottom end and <6000 for a stock bottom end.

Best to check at what RPM the tailshaft is rated at particularly if you like your Tacho needle to visit 6000 RPM or more.

Aluminium tailshafts can fold and break, get it balanced and checked for alignment or change to an ED steel tailshaft if they fit, they are supposed to be good for 6500 RPM
