it really depends on how the engine has been treated and maintained.
theres plenty of engines with way more ks than that with boost.
you really should be fine though.

Actually a few klrs doesn't hurt.. With the extra clearance. It's just what is required to run a nice turbo application.. Just pay attention to tune and crankcase venting.. Add an extra valve cover vent or at least drill out the back vent in rocker cover bigger..
The hose to throttle body MUST be disconnected and placed into air cleaner via oil separator...

agreed with the above, my motor first copped its turbo after 200,000km's.

i'm planning on putting a turbo onto a 400,000km old windsor too :P

Even if its blows u can buy urself a low km AU engine pretty cheap these days and they handle the boost pretty well in standard form.

No they don't. The rods are too weak for a decent serving of boost.

people on the forums have made 250rwkw easily with an AU engine and sum up to 300rwkw with AU engine in standard form.

I run 12 Lb through mine with 350rwkw..
The block is known to be the weak link.. NOT the rods or pistons..
Keep power under 500 flywheel h.p and your fine!!
If there's problems with rods ??
I would seriously look at the TUNE !!!
Check here on block chronicles...Reason these engines failed...

ive just had a look at the link you put up and had a look at some of them blocks, thats one thing that worrys me about my motor but is it true that if you keep the revs under 6000rpm and you have a GOOD tune the stock blocks last

lol how many blocks have failed?
i've never heard of one letting go...
isn't it a knon fact that the rods in the AUs are weaker than previous models?
but i do agree with above, under 300rwkw seems to be ok for them with a good tune
and having a bad tune will kill any motor.

i do however doubt 350rwkw with only 12psi?
or are you talking about your 331 setup EBXR8380?

but the question is for AU 6cylinder not for a V8.
an 67RCE is right the RODS in AU-BA's are weak.

A mate killed one on 6psi, another on 12psi, both tuned, ED bottom end on 15psi = still going after 1.5years

Na old engine combo.. the compression was much higher.. May have run more boost ??
But I doubt it as it didn't have EBC with std Nissan actuators on wastegate..
Anyway the rotating assembly survived..
The latter model V8's and 6's have higher compression. So runing boost gives you LESS
tollorance for any fo pars in tune...
One thing that is available with aftermarket ECU's is over boost engine cut out..
It has saved my engine a few times when wastegate doesn't do what it should..
Keep in mind boost is a restriction of flow, my V8 heads flow very well being TFS R series heads ported by supperflow / Benny Gatt here in Sydney...
I think the AU 6 is alittle brittle due to its high compression also..
My sons STD AUll engines ED Fairmont with T04Z at 15 Lb makes just under 300 rwkw with loose C4 converter..
The combo works due to runing 11's first time out...

@ 67rce

I have had three motors in my AU - first two did die, but due to bad tune.

Current engine running about 8.5 psi and making 222rwkw been going like that for a couple of years. No signs of damage.
