The right cam for a turbo setup, will be different to the right cam for a centrifugal blower.....they are very different beasts.

Centrifugal blowers work better with more rpm, its just a shame the Powerdyne BD-11a internals dont like lots of rpm (which is why people tend to recommend Vortech and/or Procharger).

You will still be able to get lots out of that combo though.

You could get the head ported, increase compression, custom cam.....also look at things like diff gears. A set of 3.9's would work awesome, and IMO are no worse on the highway than 3.45's.

A higher stall converter like the JMM3000 that gasman mentioned will help at the traffic light GP as long as you can get it to hook :)

Whats your exhaust setup? There may be a bunch of power hiding away in there...

"custom" cam keeps being a response, but no one seems to be able to tell me what to look for in it. Like I can contact Wade, but I don't really know what to tell them, and I'm guessing that an incorrect custom cam wil be no better than my current 1636.
I might call CAPA see if they've got anything they sell or recomend. Also get in contact with Wade they might have done 1 for someone previously.

3.45 rev too high for my liking on the highway already - cruising at 140-160 along the special private highway I have...

What do you mean by get it to hook?

Currenty exhaust setup is Pacemaker Competition extractors, 2.5" high flow exhaust, Lukey 2.5" hot dog and Lukey Ultraflow straight through 2.5" muffler, 2.5" piping and a diff dumper tip.

Yeah, but it's weekends which is when I work (so as to be able to pay for petrol and future go fast bits). Remember I live in Hobart (small town) so anywere more than 15kmins away is far away. 200kms and I'm in the other side of the state, and those northerners are weird...
you tight a**! lol
not wrong with those northerners, I'm sure they think they're in a cowboy movie or somthing.

Try some wildcat 21X headers. they're tops for superlow down torque. thats what sprint cars use.

Go way bigger exhaust !!! Its not an N/A engine anymore !!! Fitting a MSD ignition box helps keep things scrisp also....
Blower cams genereally have atleast 8* more exhaust duration...
You won't loose much low end power, air is being forced in there, having the valves open takes some restriction away.. More power with less boost untill crappy small exhaust restricts ...

MSD ignition box - is that an aftermarket coil pack?

Problem with the exhaust is getting rid of the 2.5" restriction. I've yet to see a set of extractors with a collector larger than 2.5" diameter.

Most of my wagon is white (front bar, twinlights and bonnet are needing paint - but I can't justify it yet, as I want to respray the entire car rather)... But I've never taken it to Victoria.
Yeah I'll get some pictures soon.

he means cdi unit, e.g msd dis4

extractors can be modified to have a 3" collector on them

What involved in fitting an MSD DIS 4 to the EF? Does it require aftermarket ECU?

Ok, so I've ordered a set of HM Headers HM102SS (http://hmheaders.com.au/products/index. ... roductid=5). I'll have the collector modified to 3".
I'll use my original stock cat converter and "high flow" it.
Then for the exhaust pipe just straight 3" pipe with a Lukey Race hotdog and then Lukey Race straight through center-to-center muffler (http://www.lukey.com.au/default.asp?pag ... ENT&sid=65). Then dumped at the diff.
Surely that should flow well enough?
As you can tell I'm making it stainless steel throughout.

Now it's pay week this week coming so I want to get the cam shaft sorted out as that's another easy to fix issue. I'll call Wade on Tuesday (Monday is a public holiday). But anyone got any other ones to consider?
