I have a std 6cyl n/a and want the sound of a turbo or blown V8 or gear drive noise.

And before all of you say just smash the back of the alternator brg....
or buy a capa belt driven super charger (which may happen) or fit a turbo or whatever

im serious.

is there any geardrives or flippen noise makers ya can just bolt on?

maybe a belt driven noisey bearing (hehehehe) or sumpting.. i dunno.
just thought a xr6 crusing down the street with 2.5 full system and gear drive would get people thinking..
I think it would sound s**t hot!

what are ya thoughts

You could stick baseball cards onto your caliper so they flip against the spokes of the wheel.

Buy a Holden? They make some pretty sick grinding noises and what not asthere falling apart - I have no idea why you desire your car to sound like that.

get some gilmer belts custom made for a 6cylinder.

but it would be pricey and not worth that price.

quick question mattathm, what is your budget for this mod?

My thoughts are, that you managed to beat mother nature in the high-stakes game of evolution.

No doubt, this has already been established by the FM community, and me pointing it out certainly won't enlighten anyone, except for maybe yourself.

However, despite my thoughts, I am going to share my idea for a possible solution to your problem. Mind you, this solution is not ideal in any way, but it is, by far, the cheapest to set up.

What you need to do, is pull apart your power steering pump. Once you've done that, sand down the vanes a smidge or two. Could do the same to your vane wheel as well. Put the whole thing together again, and your pump should whirr and make noises not too dissimilar from a gear drive belt. If you didn't go too crazy on the sanding, the pump should work fine, and make noise. Mind you, it is likely that you will have to replace it every couple of years or so, and no doubt your steering rack won't like it much either.
or yu could just drain most of the fluid outa the power steering pump.. should sound something like the super charger whine noise...

or cant you save video clips off youtube save and reproduce the sounds of the gilmer belt/gear drive.. super charger/turbo/blow off valve sounds..-save all those to a cd.. whack it in your cd player.. and proceed to play it turned up loud!..

track 1)4cylinder revving
track 2)4 cylinder turbo revving..
track 3)6 cylinder revving.. (atmo)
track 4)6 cylinder turbo revving..
track 5)6cylinder supercharged revving..
track 6)v8 windor revving..
track 7)v8 windor turbo charged revving
track 8)v8 windor supercharged revving..
track 9)v8 quad cam atmo revving..
track 10)v8 quad cam turbo charged..revving
track 11)v8 quad cam twin turbo.. revving
track 12)v8 quad cam super charged.. revving
track 13) blow off valve ''whooshing"....
track14) nos purge... "FFFSSSHHH".....

BWHAHAHAHAHA... ROFL...
