Hows your idle HiBoost?
In theory the idea of zero overlap and wide lsa should work but in practise all of the big hitters seem to be running agressive profiles with a fair ammount of overlap. Just look at ebs_4l. His sure cam grind bordered on lumpy as f**k and he spat out 513kw on a dyna pack (axle dyno) Again Fritz, Dev 5a, lumpy as f**k NA cam making insane power in a turbo application. Fritz, do surecam do regrinds or just billets? With the billet shortage I'm looking at a custom regrind for my turbo motor. The off the shelf regrinds are rather quite tame, even for turbo specific cams. |

dev5 is not 'lumpy as f**k'.
it runs fine on an untuned factory ECU which should give you a clue as to just how agressive it is...

Big power requires an aggressive camshaft with lots of duration and overlap. Moderate power requires a much closer to stock profile. EBXR8240 is spot on. Wide LSA 114, no overlap. Some of the best streetable gains, can just be from big lift and similar to standard durations. ie regrind. Remember that 0.020" lift duration determines idle quality, 0.050" determines approx torque rpm, 0.200/0.500" lift determines area under the curve and therefore power/airflow capability. |

Atomic got back about a billet cam today. Part number is 306590 which they claim to have sold a number of for turbo/blown SOHC Falcons. Cost is $420.
Specs Inlet duration 218 degrees @ .050” Exhaust duration 220 degrees @ .050” Lobe centres 112 Lift .510” |
