Hi IV just finished tubing my ef with snort performance kit.
I have a few teaving problem's my car started idling up 1000 1/2 rmp then stick on 2000rpm.i thought it was my throttle cable sticking but it wasn’t and I knocked the idle air sensor wire off and it started running fine but would not idle properly when car was cold. I was told by ford if I run it with out the idle air plugged in it would blow the computer in car. So I got a second hand idle air controller from wreckers put it on and now the car idles up 1000 1/2 for bout 10secs the idles were it should. It so enjoying because when you stop at an intersection it idles high for 10 secs or longer then drops bloody thing drives by its self till it idles back down. Could I have another faulty idle air sensor or do I have some other problem? im running a vortec 12.1 fmu fuel reg and stock ecu comp 5 speed manul. Cheers Matt w |

Sound like you need a bypase valve or in turbo speak "A blow off valve" Sounds like blower is raiing your idle due to sligh pressure f blower through throttle body....
Does it do this if a vacuum hose or inlet hose is off?? Ths will test if blower is doing this?????

So if i pull of any vacume line doesnt matter what one and see if it still idles up?
if it stops then the turbo is affecting the idle air controller.? does any one know if its safe to run the car with out the idle air sensor pluged in? i have some pics just dont know how 2 post em up here yet. thanks for your help ill try it with vacume line off see how i go. |

Some people run all the time with the Idle valve removed.

Does it idle high with inlet off throttle body???? S/c side.... Setting timing retarded allitle will help.. Actually if you are runing std eec it should be retarded 2 to 4 * Imo to be safe...... On EF just slot crank/ cam senser ....

take off the crankshaft position sensor, and elongate the holes, you want to move the sensor to the right to retard the timing a few deg
