The 24lbs injectors are 2.6L Magna 4 cylinder injectors. Six should cost you about $200 2nd hand at the most (really ~$160) for ones in perfect condition. They are Bosch 775 blue tops.

A rough guide is 30lbs will support 300rwhp, 36lbs will support 360rwhp, and so on at reasonable fuel pressures (40-55psi) and good safe A/F ratios.

I have only ever seen an actual "Extrude Hone" here on the Gold Coast but the company uses it only on plastic molding. Andrew Sanders from Specialised Power Porting is supposed to be very good.

and thoes magna ones will be fine of a XR fuel reg, chasing 250 rwhp?
coz im running 19's atm with 230 rwhp

There are two types of Magna injector. The ones they ran factory fitted and then there is another injector which flows exactly the same amount and are commonly used as a cheaper alternative in Magna exchange injectors.

EIS in Queensland informed me of this when I was looking for a set of bigger injectors.

Give EIS a try, if in Queensland, they sell them fairly cheaply brand new.

I don't know the part numbers or colours of the top of my head unfortunately.

You will need atleast 30 Lb injectors before you even start to make some serious power...
Keep in mind what fuel pressure injectors are run at to compare flow rates....Mitsi I think run at higher f/p.....

I beleive Jim mock motorsport can get manifolds extrude honed... their EB has a BBM on it that i beleive has been ported using this method.. perhaps contact them, from memory it costs roughly $600..

also a mate of mine is using the magna blue tops in his EA, he's using a aftermarket fuel reg (unsure on specs) and a unichip as he'd maxed out the stock ones (~170rwkw)

not running lean, but it hits 100% duty

i get my car back soon with a extra Throttle body and im guessing its goin to be leaner, so i need a cheep way to keep fuel there till i go turbo(in about a yr)

Yeah I would have to agree about bigger is better on injectors for a turbo engine. Don't bother with anything smaller than about 50 lbs injectors. Around about the 550 cc/min minimum otherwise you will end up upgrading them again once you get a feel for the engine and wind the boost up.

I am on my third set of injectors now.

I had 340 cc/min injectors, maxxed them out, got hold of some 440cc/min injectors and maxxed them out so decided I wasn't messing around the third time and got some 750 cc/min Rochestors and stuck them in there.

Don't worry about idle too much unless you are trying to use a standard ECU. My car idles okay and it has a huge cam as well.

Also running high fuel pressures with little injectors is a good way to make a 600 hp fuel pump into a 400hp one.

Fuel flow capability of the pump changes with the inverse square of pressure it is required to supply. If you increase the working pressure you reduce the flow capability of the pump. This is particularly important when using rising rate regulators.

Always trial adjust your regulator up to the maximum pressure it will see in operation (allowing for rate rise if applicable) then flow your pump while the engine is stopped. Measure the amount of time it takes to get a litre or two of fuel returning to the tank or swirl pot and this needs to be able to keep up with your injectors.

Moral of the story is a 600 hp pump is not necessarily a 600 hp pump when it is pumping fuel at 70 or 80 psi into a rising rate regulator. Try to keep base pressures down around the 35 - 43 psi mark maximum especially if using a rising rate reg or you risk fuel line failures and fuel fires etc.

EMS 8860 will run them fine :p

so you think they will do the job?

ah yeah sorry man forgot you use EMS... pfft ecc :wink:

depends on how much more air is going in, i belive they ahve been used on low boost set ups so you might find them ok... You'd get a set for next to nothing from a big pick n pay style wrecker anyway.
And isnt changing injectors fun :?

just make sure you buy new Orings... I spent a few hours fiddling with leaky orings... I got a petrol stain on the wall...
