My EB (dressed up as an XR6) NA with few mods was around 900 bucks a year (didn't insure it with them) with just car and shannons. I am 30+ had no prangs or claims. Think either I was getting ripped or you guys are. In the end I insured it with CGU and pay about 350 a year with 300 bucks excess (but no XR badges on car). As soon as I informed them it had XR badges on it they wouldn't insure it :? . All prices are for fully comprehansive.

Can't get insurance for the ute at a reasonable rate. Talking around 3500 bucks a year for comprehensive from those that will touch it.

Guys who are in Vic must remember it doesn't matter if you have handed over $700 or $2700 a year in insurance you will NOT be covered by insurance when it comes time to claim if your car is not engineered and fully compliant with Vicroads and ADR rules!

Good point so your better not having insurance and bank the extra cash, not sure if this is the same with 3rd party property which is amust.

Im compliant except for my fines! Which are few and id doubt they'd check up on.

And if they did none of the fines were obtained in my car all the company's if that makes a difference

Holy crap some of you are paying big bickies. I'm paying about $650 full comp at the moment on stock AU I6 NSW, NRMA 12 years with them plus all my other insurances so get max 12% discount. But I expect that to gain at least a 3rd with the mods I have in mind, I seriously don't see it doubling but who knows?

young 18y/o bloke at work just picked up an XR6T, hope your sitting down for this one..

I s**t you not,

almost 4 grand + a $900 excess!!!

that is with a good history on his parents name too!!

Seriously, If I had to pay this sort of $$ I would just hold off till my premium was to drop a bit to own one.

The kid got almost $50,000 personal loan to buy this car too.

Look at the PDF attached, I ran the quote on NRMA cause I thought he was full of s**t.

I just did the same kind of quote only with SGIC (im fairly sure NRMA and SGIC are the same company) and i got almost $3000 plus a $800 excess. That was insuring it for an agreed value of 45 thousand and living in the northern suburbs, with me as the owner/driver.

Pretty sure if the guy takes his parents name off he'll get a cheaper quote.

haha, try riding a motorbike.

I bought a new SV650S a few months back for $10500.

RACV wanted $4200 to insure it for a year.

I ended up finding a place to insure it for $1300 but my excess is $1500 :(

Im 23. Had a crash when I was 18 and once last year in the 4wd.
