young 18y/o bloke at work just picked up an XR6T, hope your sitting down for this one..

I s**t you not,

almost 4 grand + a $900 excess!!!

that is with a good history on his parents name too!!

Seriously, If I had to pay this sort of $$ I would just hold off till my premium was to drop a bit to own one.

The kid got almost $50,000 personal loan to buy this car too.

Look at the PDF attached, I ran the quote on NRMA cause I thought he was full of s**t.

My first 2 cars werent worth as much as his premium!

one word...mental

wow 4K...parents must be loaded.

well my car 3rd Party, fire and theft, Age 21 with clean history, no fines is costing me just under 600. Was going to ask how much insurance is with a turbo...but didn't want to hear the figures.

you should try your bank, i was with NRMA first than they stuffed me over, and everywhere else was pretty expensive, than i went to my bank and they covered me for twice the amount that i would have got through most other places, custom paint, all my exaust, wheels, the lot for about 800

I pay $660 a year on a NA XT with my parents ~60% discount as it's in their name. Something like $1200 excess if I crash it.

Kid wants one off the showroom floor. If a lot of the jap cars were locally delivered then a lot of kids would be taking out huge are loans (a deposit on a pretty large house) to get these things brand spankers.

If you bought one second hand you could blow the entire driveline 3 times and pay for it out of your own pocket and still have it cost less than a brand new car which isn't covered under warranty for being flogged to death.

I agree with that statement, wait till he wants to sell it in afew years and finds he owes alot more than the cars worth, end up with no car and still the remainder of the loan lol

Well maybe not Ford warrantly FTW.

My new bike has a 2 year unlimited km warranty. That is the only reason I bought it new. It is my daily though.

I wouldnt buy a brand new car unless it was just something to get around in. ie something Im not going to mod and flog to death. That is what EA's are for. Thrash it, break it, buy another one for $50 and swap drivelines over.

the guy down the rd bought a new wrx but the dealer told him if he mods the exhaust or computer it will not be covered by warranty so its just stock, hes not game to mod it,still good though but i must admit they sound nice with a good xhaust

When my daughter first started driving an XG XR6 we had quotes from $2000 to $7500 so she has third party with the car in her granmothers name and her as the main driver that put it up anothe $40 per month.

All this is s**t if you ask me I'm 45 and been refused insurance on the forms after telling them I have a $1500 sound system that is the majors like GIO NRMA.

I want to know what has full comp got to do with your green slip.
