$734 sounds about right, when a young bloke starts to mod the motor, turbos, blowers wat ever it puts him in the high risk bracket and then the premiums go thru the roof, ask them how much extra if you supercharge your vehicle,be interesting to compare.

location also has a big swing on insurance costs.

get some NSW quotes.

NSW is the most expensive place to own a car in Aus, every year-
-Vehicle inspection $40ish
-Green Slip $400 - $550 depending on insurer
-RTA $260

Thats just to get your car on the road legally, THEN you have to fork out for insurance, and the figures here are huge compared to interstate.

NRMA wanted $1800 for me, Stockish EL XR6 +25 driver only clean history less 1 low level speeding fine. Ouch!

thats right normally they ask your postcode first, then if its garaged, alarm, age, driving history etc. and theres no point lying as they always do a check before paying out and we all know if they can get out of paying up they will.

Maybe because it is the postcode, in Tassie, hillbillys cant drive then new fangled steam machines, so the premiums are lower. Seriously that is less than i pay at rating 1, 41 yrs old, no accidents, no speeding fines in last 5 yrs, why is this so?

Maybe he's just insured the blower only not the rest of the car. :)
