I have a el which is soon to be twin turbo, I was just wondering if anyone knows a easy place to run the pipes to a front mount cooler without having to cut big holes in it.
thanks

I have never seen it done without cutting, the parts you need to cut aren't structural and if you do it properly (ie cut through, paint the bare metal and run some edging around it) then it will look very neat.

You can go under the headlights but you still need to trim a little... but i would worry too much about cutting holes, as EDXR8 said, its not structural and you can easilly hide them

If you move the battery to your boot, and cut a hole just in front of the battery tray, then remove the factory air box and bring the piping back through where it used to sit.

I’ll take a few pics for you…

cut a hole under the wheel arch which is under the coolant holder.. This reduces the sharp angles needed when you cut near the headlights... And it can be easily patched up and hidden for future needs...

Also, on the passenger side i found the best spot was just above the ABS...

If ya really desperate, i can find some pics for you

No need to remove the ABS, just go in front of it

NAh go twin turbo I reckon. Any chance the car will be down at Ballarat drags? I might come and see it when it is all finished, we are moving to Ballarat in the very near future.

Thanks for the advice i have mounted the intercooler and it wasn’t as bad as i thought.

But now i have to take the motor out, I just want to know what kind of low comp pistons to use, is there any made just for 4 ltrs or do I have to have custom made ones, if any one knows.

I dare say it will be at Ballarat drags should run a good time down the 8th I hope
