my mate tried this out on his skyline, he found running nothing at all gave him the "fully sic" blow off noise that he wanted. I pretty sure the way it works is that the longer the pipe the deeper the pitch will be and a shorter pipe will give you a really high pitch like that found on most vl's. your best bet is too sart with a 3" pipe approx 20cm long and try it. if you dont like it then take it off and cut a bit off and just keep repeating this process until your happy.

And it may help to put a small air filter on the end of the pipe to save your turbo getting dust/dirt in it, at least use some metal flywire and a hose clamp.

OMG don't start this F**k "dose pipe" rubbish.
its for the fulleee sick crowd.
In the best case scenario its proven to do nothing except attract the wrong sort of attention, in the worst case what you are hearing is compressor surge....aka the turbine chopping stalled air.

/have fun with the EPA ya goose!

It actually amplifies some harmonics of the dose sound. My brother has a 2.5" diameter 13.7cm long pipe and on a quiet night you can hear the car from almost 2kms away when he snaps the throttle shut. Up close it is f**k loud but sounds mellow in its pitch. Ideal length for a 2.5" pipe is 15cms but the kid that cut it up is cross eyed and got it to 13.7 but it sounds better than a 15cm pipe.

With no pipe the dose sounds much sharper (almost like a BOV pulsing open and shut) but the sound doesn't travel anywhere near as much and is pretty quiet. Not much louder than with a pod filter fitted.

If you get this arced up over a question, I recommend you don't search 'dose' on youtube, or you'll probably implode.

I fail to see how this assists the query being posed.

Please try to keep on topic.

I forgot another thing. Dose pipes made from diferent materials make different sounds. Steel vs thin walled ally vs plastic tube all sound completely different if they are the same dimensions. Ally sounds the most mellow while plastic sounds almost like no dose pipe. steel is somewhere in between the 2.
