How effective would that wastegate placement be? coming from the crossover pipe? And would venting the wastegate to atmosphere make any difference to the running of the vehicle? i would assume it would be noisy and nasty fro a street car?

I would say it will be connected to exhaust...
Venting like that is called a screamer pipe...

but having the wastegate on the corssover pipe...its only receiving exhaust gas from one bank? Would that still be effective at regulating turbo speed?

it will technically still release pressure from both banks, just from one more than the other, wastegates like that will work fine providing they are large enough, but the closer to the turbine the more effective they will be.

Yeah, I was reading that thread last week.
Since Wes (ebv8) bought his kit, I've had turbo e-series V8 on the mind. Mmmm.....turbo v8 |

These are available in kits??
I assume it would be an ex USA kit? Do they bolt straight onto the e-series?? Would be awesome to see a few more offyaguts cars around.

There is tighter clearance around air conditioning comprssor, our inner guards protrude into engine bay more...
A set of these would be a good start.. http://www.bgturbokits.com/ May have to change a few things??
