Yeah 185 in an EB is still fun ( to start off with hehe )

So how does the boost climb related to rpm on SC motors? Say, at 3500rpm, what boost is it reaching? I'm only used to turbo's so dont know much about SC's... but wouldnt mind trying one in the future

It will depend on the supercharger. They have compressor maps just like turbos do and there are different designs to the compressor wheel which result in different efficincies/characteristics. i.e. s-trim, a-trim, ys-trim..

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/support/

To cut a long story short, the Powerdyne i run makes about 2psi at 3000rpm and 7psi at around 5500rpm. Not sure what the vortech guys get, probably comes on a little later but really ramps up quickly after that.

Never had mine measured on the dyno but my calculations (based on speed of rear wheels/trans/engine and hp at wheels) came in over 600nm at the engine, my peak was around 4500rpm IIRC (my motor doesnt breathe terribly well)... i have the spreadsheets at home.

I am seeing about 8-9psi at 5000rpm (thats as far as I am willing to take it until fully tuned) but I would imagine it would be around 10psi @5500rpm and 11-12 at 6k

If I get mine up to about 5.5k, it winds up about 11psi (had to get a passenger to spot that one, I am usually watching the road). I have a Vortech V2, but no idea what trim type, and no cooler here. End results are 297rwhp

It goes pretty good for only 3.5-4 PSI!!!
It should keep me happy for a few weeks, but in the meantime i'll be searching for the leaks to try and find that other 4 PSI hiding somewhere!
It actually topped out at 183rwkw, but he said it was consitently running 180+ every run, just not any higher unfortunately!
Very happy with it today! Pulls unbelievably, at a little over highway speeds (not that i'd know!)
I'm going to put 'better' hose clamps on all the piping, check the cooler, get the boost gauge all hooked up and see what she does!
I don't know if any of you guys like Chef and myself who are running Wolf ECU's, but i really like the function where you can turn the Rev Limiter up or down to what you'd like, it makes good sense, to turn the limit down to under 500 RPM, so if anyone tries to steal it, it has to be on the back of a tow truck to do so!

Thanks for your help again!!!!

I await patiently for a spin :D
It'll be interesting to see what it'll pull on the strip in a few weeks...

Great to hear its going, 185 is just the begining hey

So looks like all you guys without intercoolers should race out and grab one... 185 at 4psi must be a direct effect of the lower inlet temps.

Yep, Wolf is a fine product :D

Thanks guys,
Hopefully i can get it all sorted out before i was going to take it to Heathcote for a run down the 1/4.
Definately pulls a s**t load harder, which it should! but yeah it feels great.
I just can't wait to get the extra 45-50kw, the guy was expecting to see from her.
Martin, i remember a couple of times how you said people look and stare once they hear the BOV, i now know how you feel!!! :D
Once people hear it coming onto boost, and then the BOV letting go, they turn around and look, like WTF, thats coming from a Falcon, and its not a BA Turbo.
Well hoping for 230+ if i can get it going up to 8 PSI, but i'm starting to think traction could be very fun problem at times!
I'll keep everyone posted on how it all goes, hopefully sooner rather than later, but i've just got to find the time to go over it all!!!

Cheers
Dave

Awesome stuff dave. Nothing beats that first drive with 50% more power at the wheels than you had before!

Time to change your signature mate.

Sounds awesome :)
i hope to see and hear it running!
hope those problems get sorted out soon, certainly seems like 4psi loss from the cooler is a bit much.

Hey guys, i think i may have found where the BIG leak is coming from!
Well even at idle, the s**t BOV is staying open a little and seem to open right up at Full Throttle. So i'm guessing that 4PSI is the max the BOV can flow out of it at any given time, thats why i may be losing that Pressure in the first place, but not all of it.
Does that sound like a probable cause???
Also, any ideas on how to 'plug' it up to test and see?
Would it be a problem trying to find a BOV with a harder compression of the piston, so as to stop this from happening, or is there another way i should go about it?

Thanks
Dave
