No on blowers the BOV stays open at idle, it only closes when you have a decent amount of load on the engine. The standard bosch type plastic BOV's can sometimes leak under boost but thats normally only above 10psi.
BTW have you confirmed that the pulley is a 3.15" one, it is noramally written on the pulley itself. |

Damn, i was hoping that would be the easy answer!
Yeah its definately a 3.15" pulley, just checked again then and its printed on it. Hmm, looks like new clamps and some spray to detect leaks on the weekend if i get time. Thanks for the info Grant! |

Are you hearing a loud wistle? If the pipe joiners are leaking you will hear it... BOV wise, just take it off and block up the hole with something... I used a metal cap to seal up a BOV hole once, eventually blew out but was good to test for leaks.
If the BOV is leaking, get a decent one, such as Trust, HKS ect... pleny of used ones around too |

I was thinking of trying to block it off with something, just wasn't sure what would hold on under a little pressure.
Also, here's a coupleof pics of the engine bay since its been completed. |

I had many problems with my powerdyne kit at first and only made 4-5 pounds from a 9 psi pulley. My problem turned out to be the belt slipping, due to a worn autotensioner. Chucked a new one on and got a mechanical stop made up for it just for good measure, and finally made aroud 8psi (slight drop due to the cooler).
Oh and I didn't even bother with the bosch BOV and installed a decent turbosmart one straight away as i heard from many places that the bosch ones have been known to leak as low as 5psi. |

Dave, that's a sexy looking setup. You've done a tip top job. Able to find a silicone connection for the intake pluming/throttle body join?
One thing you'll find with a supercharger... if you block off the BOV the engine wont idle. Unlike a turbo which can basically stall itself, a blower will always be pumping a reasonable amount of air into the intake. See for yourself, block the BOV outlet and the engine should splutter and stall.

Thanks guys, i kinda wanted to keep the engine covers right from the start, and it worked out, except for a little work with the dremel being done to the front plastic one.
I actually haven't tried to find a Silicon join for the Throttle body to the Piping. That along with better hose clamps, and a few other bits a pieces should see it right. Cheers Rmyers, i might have to see if i can see any belt slippage (may be hard??) and go from there. EBXR8380, yeah i've disconnected the Breather line that comes from the Oil Filler neck, were you suggesting to use hair spray to check if the joins leak, or as a kind of adhesive? Hopefully i can find some time this w/e to hack into it! |

I didnt take much notice of the flexy rubber joiner on the TB... change it for a silicon elbow as it will be bulging on boost and might pop! Might be loosing a psi or two there too
