has anyone had experience using head shims\spacers to lower compression? (eg) using a 2.0mm copper shim on the i6 rather than putting in lower compression pistons. are they reliable under high loads?
search only came up with cam shims\wheel spacers.

Alot of old turbo conversions used to used a steel decompression plate.
Problem with these is that you loose your squesh band (hence chamber turbulance) often causing pre-ignition at lower boost levels compared to using dish pistons.
