Mate - I see, by the time of your post, that your efforts regarding "shinny metal things" are being held out of the normal equation of waking hours. This would obviously explain a lot more than the actual evidence would purely taken at face value.

I have the finished outlet adapter now. and my brother in law that fabricated it for me made work of art... so technically the motor has everything it needs to go in now.. I am just trying to decide whether to swap to manual or stick with auto.. I'm aiming for 250rwkwish and do not wish to strip a manual of 3rd gear while trying to get a 1/4 mile time.

My wife has a Suzuki Sierra that I have to clean up and get ready for sale.. I am not allowed to put the EL in the shed till the Sierra is ready for sale.. (need to finish up welding the exhaust and some general bits and pieces I will be doing this weekend)
Then the EL becomes my main concern again and has the front end ripped off in preparation for various swaps.

Cool... Photos are required to be truly cool, but that can wait. I trust you.

There's always the WORLD CLASS T5 rebuild kits for a couple of hundred from http://www.thegearbox.com , (if I knew anything about anything before buying a box, I would have done the world class at minimum... Now am stuck with non-world class T5 with rattles...!)

Cough.

Other than that you're delving into the mystical realm of TKO ownership... And that means your households combined income for a few weeks.... Good luck with convincing the wife on that front ;)

Meanwhile, you could simply put the auto in, blow it up, buy another for $120 and blow it up again.

All good!

Gearbox rebuild kit sounds great. Would be very handy for some people to know they're out there, and cheap.

But I think your in the wrong shop...

Would be a kodak moment as you walked in looking over your shoulder explaining to your mates in tow. "Yep this is the joint with the cheap T5 rebuild kits" Wondering whats with all their bewildered looks, you turn around to see a 300lb twink about to unleash his whips and shizzle!

In other words... i'd double check your link!! :P

frank, i've come and read the entire thread, took me... i've lost count of the time. Looks awesome, good choice on the EL, have no regrets, and i completely agree with you on the tail-lights, they just looks so... weak. but, that's the beauty of your project, people will soon forget when they suddenly hear a vroom and you're gone lol

sorry, got excited there, nevertheless, been a month since the last post, any news at all? Sell the Sierra yet? I would love to see this thing in action!

Can't wait to start mine... but i've only just realised that while i wait for money, the km's are building up on the old girl, started at 150 when i got her few years ago, just passed 190 the other day :(, although she's had no mechanical hiccups while in my care... i don't know if she could handle a SC

i hope yours comes out awesome :D

Sierra is done.. not sold yet, but all fixed up and driving. So very soon now the EL goes in the shed for the full treatment. I have a new baby girl arriving in a week or two so no doubt that will delay things for a little while but I've used the time to upgrade the EL with AU seats and full fairlaine ghia interior (dash door trims etc) I've also been looking around for a BF XR front bar to chop up and merge with my EL XR6 front bar.. but the engine is more important so as soon as I can, I'll be doing the engine swap.

I can't wait to get this thing in the car either.. its been a long road and life keeps intruding.
