as he wouldnt be selling the items, just giving info

sigh... all this talk of m112's is making me jealose.. but no way a 112 will fit where my m90 is going... besides... If I can get to 8-10 psi with the smaller pulley... will be good enough for me... I don't want a fire breather as it's a daily driver and spends most of it's time in traffic.

OK... since I have only an M90 and not a 112, I have to make the absolute most of it.. in addition to the 10psi pulley I plan to add.... I just one this:

{DESCRIPTION}

Image

It's a 4.3 litre/min diaphram pump capable of self priming and with a max temp of 60 degrees C..

perfect for the water to air intercooler I have here.... putting the pump after the radiator will mean that it will never see close to 60c and it pumps enough water that the intercooler will work nice and efficiently...

I did make a pump, but it wasn't self priming and needed massive pipe adaptors.. in addition to being overly large and power hungry.. this one has reasonable power usage and is quite and small.... and cheap. :-)

one more piece of the puzzle accounted for.

The headwork is done.. I've picked up all the bits I need to replace the welsh plugs, mls head gasket, timing chain and guides and a few other bits and pieces. I'm just about ready to get this engine sorted and in the car.. then it's time to find out if my charger setup works.

I'm sure it will work dude, just how much boost & power you get will be the questions.

Cheers

yeah... I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work either, but it's not the same as seeing it working.....

I'm hoping with a 10PSI pulley and water to air intercooling it will do somewhere from 220 to 250rwkw.

That doesn't seem totally unfeasable.

Also, I've wondered alot just how much force is exerted against the supercharger body and mounts and will my custom bracket hold up... the conclusion I've reached, is that even if the worst happens and it did snap the brackets, it would have to snap off the air con (below) the intake manifold (above) and the shock tower (beside) to actually move that much.. it's pretty tight in there.. worse case would be that the angle would change slightly and the belt would come off...

Having said that, to break loose it would have to snap 3 bolts off the engine block (one is an engine mount bolt) and a largish 6mm steel plate... I just worry about it because it's my own design and setup... once I see it on a dyno at 5500rpm I'll stop feeling insecure about it. :-)

This is what I've been doing while waiting for ordered engine bits to arrive:

The bottom half of the bar is BA-GT which as you can imagine is the wrong length/width/contour for an EL...

So I've had a lot of cutting and shaping and moulding to get the contours exactly right.. you can see the guard contour I've added to the edge in the second photo.. (actually a piece of the original bumper classed onto it.)

I can totally understand that.

Nice work on the front bar, can't wait to see it finished.

Cheers

That's great that it's getting close, but all great projects take a bloody long time. They are usually worth it in the end.

Cheers

Hey been keenly following your progress for a while, just wondering if you were done yet?! Wondering if its up and running?
Doing similar - but m90 is over extractors.
6 years build time so far!!!

6 years? i thought my turbo build of 12 months was a long time lol soo many kits out there now for different setups, almost not worth the time to custom make your own

I've taken a week off work.. I've collected bits for a couple of years... today I start putting my new engine together..

It's up in a stand ripped down to just block/crank/rods/pistons... no bore lip at all or signs of wear anywhere... everything looks as new. just to be sure I'm putting new brass core plugs, timing chain and guides, front and rear main seals and a lovely new refurbed XR head.

Also putting my T5 in it while I am at it. By this time next week my ghia should be a manual with a very tidy engine that contains all the supercharger mountings and brackets.

Then I take it over the pits to get the manual GB and new engine number on paper.. then the charger goes in and the fun begins. :-)

Gonna take some more photos, but here is the block in the stand.. If I have time I will paint the block and engine bay (block blue, engine bay shockwave)

Sweet! Take the time to paint up the block, you will be kicking yourself later if you don't!

Can't wait to see this all pieced together!

Cheers
