blew it good and propper! got the gasket but the tricky part is puttin it in!

id like to do it without taking the turbo out but getting the studs out will be a drama, got a stud exstractor set but not enough room!

anyone else done this and what did you find to be the easyist way?

tell me about it mate, sorry to tell you but the best thing to do is take the turbo off. its what i had to do and way id say it. do it once and do it proper. removed 3 studs and snapped the last haha, put 4 new studs in. (get the right ones as the threads on each end are different) and then put cone locks on instead of normal nuts (metal version of nylocks) never had the issue again but i worked on the car for a solid 4-5 hours. would of been less if i didn't snap the stud.

Thats why studs are gay.....

I have plain bolts and double nuts, no leaks, never come undone......

What gasket did you get? 0.9mm shim??

um yeh its a prick, not that big it just takes time. id put 1 gasket on and then gasket goo both sides of it. i got all my stuff from a nut&bolt joint (coventry fastners ) mind the spelling. was much cheaper than ford :) ive never had an issue with the dump pipe....

sorry to hijack the thread but my ford dealer told me the manifold to turbo gasket was not a factory part and that the faces where a machined fit so no gasket is required is this true?
