Hi there,
I've just purchased a 2nd hand FG F6 2008 model. I would like to increase the horsepower and have a budget of approx $10k. Can anyone point me in the right direction or advise me on how they would spend the cash and also the expected results? Thanks for your help. |

Hiflow cat, cat back, injectors, fuel pump and a tune would be a good start. Should be around the $5k mark and 350rwkw

I honestly have no idea about ba onwards but i rekon a bigger turbo setup would definatly fill out that other $5000 along with what 67RCE already mentioned . . .

decent cooler, some brakes and boots to make the thing stop as well as it starts. Suspension.
The standard recipe for the Turbo falcons are pretty much, Injectors Cooler Fuel pump Custom tune Cat Exhuast Check out xr6 turbo forums, they are dedicated to your model. They you just keep spending money getting bigger stuff and going faster and faster.

Gees isnt an FG F6 with 310kw enough for you? LOL. Best start would be a custom tune. Not much on the road will be able to munch you then

Zorst, cooler (maybe custom piping as the std is a little long), custom tune, depending on cash regrind the cams.
I think people find cams good for the i6 but then automaticly think 'it takes boost so give it more' and yes the f6 motor boosts nice. but a set of cams to match what your giving it in boost is important too i think. and as youve got the money to spend id look at that option. welcome to the site too mate, PICS!

Thanks for the tips. Can the stock ECU be remapped/tuned? Can you guys recommend a place in Northern suburbs Melbourne that tune heaps of these?

Thanks again.
Just actually picked the car up yesterday and wow. THE thing goes like the clappers. Definetly needs to be lowered about 1.5-2" front and rear. Anyone recently dropped their FG? Looking for suggestions on springs and struts. Want to still be able to have a great track day with little body roll, without completely spoiling the ride on road. I will probably invest in the following mods: Pod Filter plumbed to factory CAI (make some nice turbo noise, muzza I Know....) Cat Back Exhaust 3" Hi-flow Cat Fuel Pump Injectors Increase Boost to approx 14 PSI Catch Can Tune by Bluepower Will lowering it with stiffer springs reduce/eliminate the Tramping/axle shudder when under power? Still have New Car WArranty until November 2010 so any mods would have to be carefully installed to allow reverting to a stock setup should I encounter any problems... Thanks for your help. |

also put a 4in turbo dump pipe on it and will increase the turbo spooling and and a bigger intercooler will do wonders.

Thanks for your help. factory 13.3 psi, tune voids warrantee, 3" exhaust is smaller than stock.

Thanks for that info. Didn't realize they put so much boost thru factory standard. So maybe best to keep it simple with the mods until the warranty expires

Forget about your warranty if you modify your vehicle in any way. A very easy scapegoat for any issues that may arise.

And we all know how manufacturers are like with warranty claims lol
"I see your upper ball joint let go. Oh wait you have an aftermarket exhaust, your warranty is now void" |
