i wish the std eb bar would accomodate a cooler like the ef one, good on ya mate, great to see more turbo 4l action, wouldnt you have to say that a turbo e-series would have to be the fastest growing trend?? there is a LOT of them happening

Mr Kiss your car is looking great mate, that intercooler looks good behind the front bar, its very subtle.

Im wondering though, (and this has probably been covered before) but wouldn't the bumper restrict the airflow to the top 2/3rds of the intercooler and therefore be a waste of time?
Would you get the same cooling effect from using an intercooler only half that height or does it still get enough airflow in behind there anyway?

Luke.

hey, looks like good progress with your manifold.
why did you decide on a 2 piece flange? wouldnt a single be stronger?
also is it 4 mm black steel aswell?
also your hole size in the flange, how much smaller did you go?
how is the flange for the turbo going to mounted onto the tubes? are you going to squish the 2 ends a bit? or will they fit fine with complete ends?
you dont have any progress shots of you flange either do you?
looks good, and ill keep watching
Cheers :)

I didn't choose a 2 piece header plate, its just what the exaust shop had and its about 12mm thick, i couldnt be bothered making one.
And as for less strength i dont think the 2 piece would be much differance to a single.

The I.D. of the hole on the header plate is about 40mm, which happens to be the same as the 40mm Black Steel...

I have'nt made up that flange yet because I dont have the tubo yet wich i should be getting at the end of this week if everything goes to plan and the wastegate next week(46mm, 6-7psi spring).
Before i do anything more to the manifold i need the turbo so i can check clearances to the shock tower and also allow for engine movement...
But this is my intension at the moment (theres also a small pic in the first post of what i should look like...)

Cheers thanks Chrisy. Yeah could say I've had to do "some grinding", but my welds are getting better!!!
