Hi i have a 1966 mustang with a 4litre i6 and have done a few quarter runs, 1st run was with the 4spd auto and 3.50 diff gears and i got a 14.78, 2nd run i got a 14.87 and 3rd run a 14.83, they were all times with a g-tech quarter mile timer.

OK since then ive changed it to a manual and done a few runs and the best i have gotten is a 15.1.... it really pisses me off that the manual is slower.. Im still using the Auto computer, could that be the problem?

Anyways i have just put a baby turbo on it from i think a 180sx or 200sx which is either a t25 or t28, which is way to small, its not running an intercoole reither yet, but have been driving it abit and cant rev it past about 4000 cuz it just pings so i have Put a pair of vice grips lightly over the fuel return line and have resoved the pinging problem.

I did a quarter mile run while short changing at 4000rpm and managed a 14.82 or something like that cant remember wat it was, but now im happy its doing a 14 sec quarter again.I havent done a run with the vice grips yet.

Well next trick is bigger turbo, ive just ordered a Toyota supra turbo kit from ebay america which comes with a GT45 turbo, intercooler, wastegate,BOV,Boost controller, alot of pipework a 2jzgte turbo manifold which will be sold and a turbo timer.

So i cant wait for that stuff to arrive, also looking for a microtech computer and injectors, and maybe next few pays ill think about some atomic rods and some aftermarket pistons.

You're only 20 years old so I'll forgive you but let me be the first one to tear you a new a*** hole by asking what the hell possessed you to increase your fuel pressure by using vice grips? Did you run out of cash after you bought the car?

I thought I was pushing the financial envelope when I had my old XF (abandoned the project before I really got started because I didn't want to do cheap and nasty mods to it) but this takes cash strapped to a whole new level.

Haha yeh i no its stupid but Guess wat it actually works, well i had crap all money so no money for the rite regulator, but i will be doing everything properly now that im gettin a bigger turbo so i will be gettin injectors a computer and a REGULAtor Lol,,

Well my brother has a 1995 mustang and was having problem with the performance so 1 day for some reason he sticks some vicegrips on his return line and Boom it had power so obviously his factory regulator had s**t itself, but now he has a new 1 and no vice grips lol

I'd be looking at the fuel pump more than the regulator. My bother had the same thing happen in his VL but instead of vice grips he went out and bought himself a Malpassi reg for under 200 bucks. Fuelpressure is alright and the car runs okay but you can hear the pump slowly s**t itself. If I was you I'd park the car till I can afford to do all the important stuff in one go.

Interesting routing of intake. I guess it doesnt take long to warm the intake up, hence the engine itself....lmao

If you are referring to the cooler piping going back over the rocker cover on its way to the throttle body the air isn't even in there long enough to get warmed up.

Haha yeh well wen i put my new turbo on there i will have to actually run a similar route of piping because i dont have much clearance on the other side where the shocker tower is so it doesnt fit through there unless i can get like oval shaped pipes to go that way..
