Ok this question has probally been asked a million times, with the setup listed below.
im not after boosting the engine to hell and back just say 5 psi driving around 1. could there be engine damage with running a turbo at around 14psi? 2. is it a case of the engine just wont be around for so long? 3. Is there anybody who has run a turbo setup on a stock falcon around 14psi for a while with no problems??? Engine setup: Ef block ed head Highvolume oil pump balanced crank assembally ACL comp tri metal bearings, 1" extra oil clearance duralight 20"oversize pistons, standard ef rods Acl Moly rings Genuine ford MLS headgasket, Coated with hylomar head shaved to unknown Crow cam- xr6 eqiv springs ed xr6 cam Slight porting Thanks a heap

It depends on how well its tuned, and how well you screwed it together, and how you drive it

if tuning is good, it should hold up fine.. i constantly run 12psi into a std au engine, and the odd occassion wind it up to 15psi for a night run..

Mine stays at 15psi now.
It will be fine if the motor is tuned well and in good condition. |

Should hold upto 20psi if engine was built correctly and tune is SPOT ON

the week points in his engine would be the std rods.. otherwise if he had better rods and head studs even 28 psi would be ok ..

You'd get a million kms out of the motor on 15psi if you always drive under boost
It all comes down to driving habits at the end of the day. Rest a brick on the accellerator and of course it will fail in due time. Take it easy with the odd thrash here and there and there's no reason why the car won't outlast you. |

With a stock falcon I have have found the ring lands collapsing around 15psi+ and the head gasket is an issue.
You have a MLS head gasket which has sorted that problem and stock ACL aftermarket pistons. At a stab the ACLs cast may be a bit stronger than the stock Ford piston (which I think are made by ACL anyway) but I would think the aftermarket piston is probably made a bit better. So you might be fine. The rods are definately OK.

I know a guy who races at 360 rwkw [E85 / 385rwkw C16] with std assembly..
He changes at 5500 rpm...18 to 22 Lb boost.. If you keep rpm down with good tune it will last as long as std engine with frequent oil changes etc.. BUT keep rpm down, use the extra torque !!! 300 rwkw seems the durable level for BTR trans with cooler also...
