Nice one, Your hard work and saving seems to pay off :)

I'm just curious, is it still alright to drive with a smashed 3rd?

Like just use, 1, 2, 4, 5. Or is it not drivable at all?

I have no idea about this, that's why I'm asking :)

yes it is drivable but it makes really bad noises in all gears. and they a real loud to. also i have no revisers so getting out the driveway isn't easy lol. it will be staying in the shed till the tko arrives, witch should be sometime this week or next week.

Fritzz, was that a stock auto or did you do anything to it.

They can be made to survive but you gotta know what to do. That shiftkit resistor mod wont help at that power level but there is a solenoid mod you can do which helps heaps. I was putting out 350 ATW with my mod and stock auto and the auto seemed to be taking it very well before I had to rip the engine out of my ED. The BTR 4sp is taking 500ATW in a properly modified form and thats in a 1750kg car.
I'd definately stick with the auto. Turbos are much better suited to them.

Also, very nice car mate, well done.

How easy is it to fit the TKO 600 and what is it rated for. I guess you need a custom bellhousing/clutchplate/tailshaft etc.

they are rated at 600ftlb.

from what ive worked out, u use the t5 bell housing with spacer, 26 spline clutch plate and 31 spline yoke.

the shifter is 1.5 to 2" forward of the t5.

the ford application tko 600 is a direct swap for a ford toploader exept splines, so it shouldent be that hard.

ill let use know how the installation goes

My bellhousing looks like a T5 one that has been welded up to suit the tremec box.

The TKO 600 is a direct swap minus the splines. A TKO 500 is a direct replacement for my tremec box.

Mine just an adapter to space the shifter back an inch or 2 to fit in the standard EA hole.

The plastic under the centre console has been removed so it doesnt rub on the shifter bracket.

I am getting the parts to turbo my el at the moment and was worried about my t5 holding up, as they are piss weak.
I spoke to Mal Wood and he said to look at a t56 and a bigger clutch as im chasing 350rwkw.
Does anyone else know of good places for manual transmissions in Victoria, East Melbourne.
