Yeah once its going it will be good. Just with uni and stuff I wont have a lot of time to work on it. Cant wait til uni holidays. Hopefully it will be turbo and running nicely by christmas.

I got the motor today. It needs a good cleanup before it goes in.

I got word back from innovate. The wideband controller is fixable for $45. Yay!

Im going to drop it off on Saturday. Not sure when it will be finished but Im in no hurry. I wont be able to enjoy it for a while anyway.

This project is jinxed!

I took the motor to Nicks today and we did a leak down test before taking it off the trailer. Cyl number 5 has only half the compression of every other cylinder.

:(

Luckily this motor is still under warranty so I should be able to get another one without any trouble. I hope so anyway.

BA engine conversions FTL.

nope, i took most of the ea stuff out. Im using the EA oil pressure sender and wire for the instrument cluster, the EA starter motor wiring and I think thats it.

The gearbox loom stayed the same. Im using the same gearbox that was in it before.

I need to figure out something for the water temp sensor and the tacho. The tacho can be fed from the new ECU but I might need to fit an EA sensor to the BA motor somewhere for the temp guage to work.

Ill figure all that out later on.

If you do it just keep all the stock looms in the engine bay. Im spewing I hid all mine now but at least it needed to be replaced anyway due to fire damage. Ive got another EA ghia out the back with good looms in it for my car.

The one on AFF was pretty detailed but I got it locked when I was banned from there.

Not sure if it is still there.

oh and dan, in all honesty, do you reckon its worth going for an XR6 or XR6T engine, or would the XT motors be capable enough?

Go an XRT or typhoon motor if you can IMO. They have lower compression and the later models are good for 400rwkw as shown by a few people on the XR6 Turbo forums.

I dont think Ill push my NA motor much over 250 for now, maybe 300 if it can make it with the high compression.

If I make 300 Ill be stoked. Any more and I think Ill be doing pistons and rods before hand.

Not sure when it will be done. Nick said he will contact FTG to organise another replacement motor. Not sure if he has called them yet.
