You have it easy. Whack EFI and a turbo on there for cheap using 2nd hand parts!

The guy at dynomotive said the power figure was about right for one on gas. I guess the massive gearbox and diffs kill the figures a bit.

Ive got a 4.2 motor on LPG. Ive got all the stuff I need to turbo it and put it on gas research except for a turbo and water and oil lines. Im not sure what turbo I want yet and was gonna wait until the EA is done.

If I make 150 with it Ill be happy.

Damn you Dan!
The d***head I took my car to, to run the gas line and certify the installation, had the car for 3 weeks, then finally tells me it's ready to be picked up.
That'll be $362, but it's not certified! WTF?
The C**k refuses to plate it now, cos he doesn't like the locked diff or the fact it has no heater!
And even better yet is the fact that no one else will now plate the car unless they themselves run the Service line... Sounds like I'll have to give Aafrb a call to find out what my legal options are!
Or if I'll even have my car back for drag day

Run it NA so PPL thinking of doing the conversion can see what a EA with practically stock BA motor can do.
then you wont be rushing to put the turbo on to try to make it to the drag meet

Ill see how it goes first. If its nothing exciting then I will turbo it straight away.

I dont care for going all the way to heathcote and back just so other people can see what it runs NA.

If I dont get the corty back and certified in time, I may bring nans car down to Heathcote with the f**k box.
It's down to 1st and 2nd only at the moment. No Top or Reverse... :(

No top gear would slow it down a bit.

What happens when you accidently drive past the beam if you have no reverse? Foot out the door and push?

I went to the workshop again today, Nick is still confident it will be ready by Friday. :D

Stuff it! If I miss the beams, pull a lap and try again!
Spoke to Tony at AAFRB yesterday about my corty, doesn't sound like hes going to do much about it... Fingers crossed

Hopefully they get onto it.

Is there any reason why you cant drive it anyways?

As of yesterday my car was not running. Nick doesnt have much time left to get mine done before Friday. If I have a week to drive it around and make sure its okay Ill bring it to heathcote instead of the bike.

If he doesn't certify it, then the gas line is useless, as no other installer will sign off on it if someone else has run the service line.
If I pick it up and pay for his dodgy work, then I'm out in the cold.
Not to mention if someone smashes into me, the insurance co would royally f**k me up the a***!

Trailer to heathcote?

I drove the EA tonight. It runs. :)
It needs more tuning. My wideband caught the gay so we couldnt road tune it properly but I drove it for a good 40 minutes. BA motors are so smooth and quiet. I like.

It wouldnt start when I got to the workshop although it was running before hand. We took the fuel system apart but it ended up being a dud fuse. It turns out I have a low pressure in tank pump. 2 psi of fuel pressure will not run a BA motor FYI :P

Dunno why someone would fit a low pressure pump in the tank of an EA.

So yeah, the car feels good so far. It will be dyno tuned shortly. Hopefully before the drag day.

He reckons maybe 140 rwkw but its got the stock exhaust manifold and a standard ef cat back exhaust on it so who knows.

I dont really care what it makes NA, im hoping tp have the turbo on there before the end of the month.

G'Day mate just wanted to know did you have to modify the engine mounts at all or will the originals mount up. Also is there enough clearance under the hood. I'm just about to start doing this conversion myself and just wanting the heads up.

Cheers XR6TIM.
