Hi all,
I am looking to upgrade to an XR6 turbo. I have been shopping around for early BAs (2003ish) and aside form the common BA problems I know these are a really good car. My question is relating to the turbo model specifically. Are these cars known to develop any problems when they get to the higher millage point? (im talking turbo/engine and driveline specific here)? the ones im looking at range from 150,000 - 190,000 is it a bad idea to buy an XR6T at this millage or should they run as well as any other falcon (provided serviced regually) for hundreds of thousands of ks? any experiences and advice would be appreciated thanks Jason |

diff bushes commonly get chopped up, check turbo bearing for noise, see if the car has been boosted or tuned or anything else modified in its life time...
if its a true stocker that has been regularly serviced you shouldnt have too many dramas.... if the owner agrees, take it to ford for an ecu check and see if it has been flashed.... check to see if the front crash bar has been trimmed to fit an aftermarket cooler before being returned back to stock... ring ford to check its service history for any major repairs it may have had.... they recoed everything!
