will there be disadvantages to running a standard fuel pump and no pressure reg?

There is one there.[But not rising rate]..Rising rate regs are not expensive..May save engine..Saves all the B.S with wet system as it richens mixture anyway..It wont effect mixture when not runing n20....

Hey there EBXR8380 .... you mention the use of a rising rate 2:1 fuel pressure reg ... aren't these boost indexed or related to manifold pressure some how? How would one of these be set up on a NA + Nitrous engine?
I am curious as I would consider one of these for my project ... Cheers

There is a line that comes from the solenoid on the kit that feerds into the fuel reg via a t-piece and this is how the pressure increases. Once the solenoid is activated the reg gets bottle pressure and that increases the mixtures

Thanks. Cool!
I am looking into this N20 thing .... 100hp dry kit could be the go for sure ..... I think I will add an uprated fuel pump too ..... Cheers

Stock pressure is about 42psi, when its activated jumps to about 70psi, all on the stock regulator. I have mine set at 38psi and have a hobbs switch to kill the NOS if it drops below 55psi. This is an optional extra from NOS, and is also tuneable

stuff the dry kit, go the WET thats what i got, and im running stock fuel system and im just running different plugs, you will find it's easyier after it's installed, if it ever runs lean on NOS then just put a bigger fuel jet in, if it ever runs rick put a smaller one in, and with a wet shot you can go higher then 100 shot and be safe, just have to mess around with timing and how bigger fuel jet you have in there.
and yes start off at a low jet 1st or your engine could blow, i did a mistake of doing a 150hp shot 1st up, we put it down to a 50 hp shot a few weeks later and it pinged even at 50hp shot, but after putting timing back, and putting a bigger fuel jet then reccomended for the shot all was fine. i also have a bottle heater, in cabin remote bottle opener, and a purge kit, but i would at least reccommend a heater, maily if you live in a cold area tho, but you want to save money and you live in a hot area then a blanket will do fine.

how do you go about setting up a NOS kit on a Carby fed V8? is it easier, and which kits should be used for carby v8s?

You can buy kits with a carby plate. They sit under the carby and work in the same way. The nitrous and fuel come from the plate which is fed from the solonoids.

cool, i was going to set my 400 up to either me turboed/ supercharged but i think my compression will be way to hight like 10.5:1 and i think n20 will complement it better

go to VPW and check out what they have for carbys, you might find something.
