HI

Why don't u make ur own octane booster

You will save a futune in cash and not to mention its not hard at all to make and works better than the Known brands u pay through the nose for

I had tested heaps on a dyno and the home brew worked great

if interested in the mixture let me know and i will post it

one draw back is your making about 20lt mixers so its lying around the shed and is extremely flammable ( D A N G E R O U S ), unless ur a heavy user then its ok but best to share the costs with a friend so both take half of the mix each.

Homebrew octane booster? What sort of chemicals are we talking here FPV_GTp? I'll be very interested to see the recipe. But will my neighbours think I'm opening up a meth lab?

Yeah ive been using STP octane boost cost about $18 and last for about a month usually. I always notice a difference, throttle response is better and it drive more nicely up hills too!

Also Nitrox Hotshot is good stuff too!!

by it from a paint shop

be careful with toluene its dangerous chemical

"Methylbenzene (toluene) formed together with benzene and dimethylbenzenes (xylenes) during the catalytic reforming of C6-C9-naphthas accounts for 90 % of the methylbenzene (toluene) produced, the remaining 10 % being formed during steam cracking as a byproduct in the forming of propene and ethene. Most of this methylbenzene (toluene) (~ 80 %) is not separated, but is immediately mixed with petrol to increase its octane number. As the consumption of lead-free petrol increases, so does the importance of this octane number upgrading process, since methylbenzene (toluene) has an octane number of 103-106. Octane number upgrading is also possible with tert-butylalcohol, but this is available in too small quantities to be a viable alternative to up-grading with methylbenzene (toluene) "
