Is there some formula that you can use to pick the right ratio when selecting a rising rate regulator? ie, 2:1 or 7:1. I understand what the ratio means but how much extra fuel pressure do you need for a given boost pressure?

you really only need 1psi fuel per 1 psi boost.

so a 1:1, makes 8:1 regs seem a bit crazy, when would you need something like an 8:1?

Really depends on what injectors you are running and the power you expect. If you are running the stock injectors and expect say 240+rwkw you will probably want a fairly high ratio to push those injectors to supply enough fuel.

half water bottle?? thats the full 20L neverfail bottle and a 60L oil drum my friend. it for smoking tabaco and for why they make 8:1 regs. it's for people not smart enough to buy the right injectors for the job at hand. |

As I Found Out, you would have to be pretty crazy to run a 1:1 reg! Like said, depends on application. If you are buying a kit, alot of them come with regs any ways and the supplier should be able to tell you what it will be able to withstand. You should be starting with somthing like a 4:1

Y crazy? you keep the fuel at 300kpa above manifold pressure all the time. and the right size injector mean you never have %100 duty cycle so you will never need higher pressure |

If you are going to run any sort of forced induction, you NEED to be sure that you are getting plenty of fuel supply! If you use a 1:1 reg, you will only be increasing the rail pressure by 1psi for every 1psi of boost that you run! Where as if you use what I will be, the rail pressure will be going up 6psi for every 1psi of boost that I run.

I mean, if ppl wish to go and buy a 1:1 reg, by all means, go for it! I wouldnt be waisting the time or money IMO. That, and I want my engine to last more than 2hours when the boost-o-matic rocks up in about a months time
