very nice mate
this might sound dumb but is the inlet manifiold just a modified stock one what are the benifits of having it this way with the throttle body higher up and the injectors covered also what power are you pulling and what boost are you running

That manifold consists of a modified bottom half of an EF manifold, a stock EB throttle body and the plenum I drew up myself and had an Eng. shop knock it up for me.
There is no real science in the plenum but it seems to work pretty good so far. The reason I did it was I didn't want the stock ED manifold anymore but I didn't like the design of the top half or the throttle body location of the EF manifold. Plus I've always wanted to do this with one, so this was my chance.vv So far the car has made 347rwhp (258rwkw) at 10psi on the standard computer, cam and 24lb V8 injectors. There is a 12:1reg adding fuel on boost. |

Here are some pics that may help you. One log turbo set up made out of steel steam pipe bends, the tubular made out of 316 stainless steel pipe bends.
If you want the manifold to last you may be better off with steel steam pipe. There was a shift to using stainless steel 316 but I think mild steel does crack less and the better one to use. I really only used stainless steel for the heat retention properties and there is no schedule 10 mild steel steam pipe, but if there was schedule 10 steel steam pipe I would use that (sched 40 is thicker, heavier and harder to work with, good for log but not so much for tubular). Definately thin walled stainless steel or mild steel is out if you want a durable and long lasting setup.

Depends who makes it.............stainless steel is tougher, so less prone to cracking. My thin wall S/S tube manifold is still going strong after nearly a year.......and yes i have checked for cracking. Prolly will crack eventually, but that would be anyones guess as to when, or if ?? Daz

Ceramic coated steam pipe takes some beating...
Holds heat in better than s/s... But at the power levels you are possibly going to be using?? It doesn't really matter.. If it works ?? A "good" designed log has less surface area which helps keep under bonnet temps down.. Having said that all the manifolds we have are unequal length 6 into 1 or 2 X's 4 into 1 [twin turbo V8]...http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/E ... pes003.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/E ... inDart.jpg
