That is pretty low isnt it?

Turbotrana can get you a good set for $1250ish. Check out the rods group buy thread in the forced section. Its a few threads down the list.

These suit a BA and need to have slight mods to suit E series but well worth it IMO.

I had a quote from High Performance World for 1250 for a set of custom Diamond slugs
What mods have to be done to the BA rods & slugs to fit an e

the piston will need to have the valve relief for the e-series head cut in to it. and thats it

For less than 500 to 550rwhp I would just use ACL race series pistons dished out a little and take a bit out of the chamber. Save ya dosh and it will do the job nicely.

Once over say 600 hp then can use forged but ones that dont knock too much when cold. The BA turbo guys have gone thru most of the pistons around and most knock when cold.

Since I am using BA forged rods then I am using BA pistons with reliefs cut out for the E series. There is one manufacturer around who does their own forgings which allow the piston to be installed with low clearances. These are proven 500rwkw pistons and are around $1300. They are the ones to use IMO but sorry cant divulge the manufacturer or else my testacles get cut off.

If I could get a group buy done then I would order a number of pistons with all reliefs factory cut for the E sereies using BA style rods but I am quite sure if the quantity is not there then the price would be much higher.

thanks for the replies guys I think I will go with the idea of the acl's I am not after heaps of horsies yet I still want to keep as an almost daily driver and I do a few k's going to boat races
Reasonable price I was thinkin 600-800 as a set of small block forgies are around that money and a couple of years ago I got a set for my vl around the 600 mark
I just found out that I have got all the gear of CHEF's white ED he used to own its all going on en elxr6 engine in my ef wagoon only it now has a new exhaust manifold and I am makin a custom plenum and the wagoon is manual with 3.27 lsd
I might be asking a few questions of the next month or so as its been a while since I played cars {been busy boat racing} and turbo tech seems to have come a long way
Thanks again for the advise and any future advise
