Dude your not really listening here. You wont make anywhere near as much power with a supercharger as you will with the turbo. Seriously, there is a reason the most powerful E-series is a turbo 6. (TUFED6 460rwkw) Peak power is just a figure. Delivery of the power available is the other half of the story. In my opinion a positive displacement SC would make for a much more enjoyable drive than a turbo. especially if its an auto. If you have a low revving torquey motor then a whipple or eaton is a great idea. Torque+Torque= mega torque. you know kinda build on stengths. Nothing wrong with turbos of course I just hate it the way everytime someone mentions supercharging the turbo brigade come in waving the flag saying what they are doing is wrong. If he wants the supercharger maybe it is you who is not listening?

I guess it wouldn't be classified as E-Series, but i thought there was also an 800hp odd XH XR8 ute in WA.That could be right that he wants to Supercharge it, but for the 6's its a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to get a turbo kit for it. Having a PD blower on a 6 would be fairly unique. To whole most power thing out of cars is s**t, especially E-Series. They're no where near some of the newer cars. But in the end, look at how reliable any of them are. haha

and the sprintex supercharged el xr6 has made 440rwkw and run 10.1 down 1/4

I have a write up from a a mag of it. Very tough car. Was running 10s on stock internals (from various E series models). It's no the heriatige green any more. It did use to be that colour though (I think). It's that lighter green that is found in the AUs as well now. It runs a 2300 SRM screw compressor supercharger. It's an insane piece of engineering, and the owner is very nice and talkative about it. I remember racing him at the drags in my XR8, and I just watched him kill me from beginning to end, skipping all he way down the track to run an 11. There has been a LOT of money spent there though. I remember hearing a while ago it was back in the shop being rebuilt with top notch interals. I don't knw if he unched it, or if he is doing it before it goes, but it was a monster before, so I can't wait to see what come of it when it is re-done. The XH XR8 as fritzz said is a Vortech V7 powered 347 built by MWS. Click here for a link to the MWS site and some details on the car.

Last time I saw the Dentist he was pulling the whipple off and putting a T88 or GT45 on it (not sure of the details there).....He was buying an engine every 3-6 months or so with the whipple, it was never reliable....but then again they WERE pushing the envelope looking for every last hp and the tune was always on edge. I think I've covered this before, turbo systems are more efficient, both adiabatically and how they extract their power from the engine, as long as your above 12psi or so and both are sized to make roughly the same air flow. |

Heres a PD m90 or m112 on a Holden six. anyone notice a piston rod used as a bracket?
one of the toughest sounding 6 I've heard. you'll think is a big block until you have a closer look.

Dan i've just fitted a Raptor supercharger to my BA 6 ute and it's awesome.Fitted it myself in a few hours.
You actually do get boost from idle but it justs gets better as the revs build. As for it being harder and costlier to fit than a turbo that's garbage ,actually cheaper as i don't need all the heat management crap associated with a terdbo. Not dissing terdbo's they go great but it's a heap more work and it can get exy. This i know as i've done both. Mate PM me if you need to know more.

Barking up the wrong tree there BC... a centrifugal blower (ie Raptor) is a completely different animal to the Positive Displacement blowers this thread is about.
