What did it cost you buy and to fit? How much power is it making? As good as all the new people on this site say they are I refuse to believe they can outshine a well sorted turbo system. Prove me wrong. |

Kit cost a little bit less than retail, you've obviously got a computer.
I fit it myself with no instructions as my disc drive is US and the instructions were on a CD.The MAP sensor was the hardest a pain to get out and a newy back in. Stock BA is supposed go to around 300 EKW but untill i hit a dyno get my STOIC sorted bigger CAT and stuff i won't know . I run a 290 Boss today he got the jump but my "R thing"started to walk slowly past him, i know the guy and he was as surprised as me. Let's be friends please.

As good as all the new people on this site say they are I refuse to believe they can outshine a well sorted turbo system. Prove me wrong. It's all horses for courses. He qualified what he said... "for what I need it to do". He doesn't have to prove anything. Having said that, what I'd like to put on my car is a well-sorted turbo or positive-displacement blower for the big torque from idle through to top-end power. But realistically I can't spare my daily driver for the length of time necessary to get it all sorted and the driveline upgraded to make it daily-driver reliable. So I've gone down the path of mild mods to improve the bottom-end response and will add a centri blower to fill out the midrange to top end. I can do that in my shed in a day. It'll be immediately driveable and the only major issue to sort will be the LPG system. Will it provide more performance than a well-sorted turbo? Probably not. Is it more practical and powerful enough for a daily driver? Definitely. How do you define "better"? BTW I have a turbo and 6boost manifold in the shed, awaiting the right project car... probably an NU Fairlane in dark metallic grey for a mafia staff car... one day!

How is that qualifying something when we don't know what he needs it to do? Back in the day if someone compared a powerdyne kit to cheap turbo setup they would get shot down. I dont see the huge difference between the raptor kit and the capa stuff other than the bunch of new people on here pushing the product. |

Are you saying that just because people are new here that somehow their opinions are less valid than yours? That sounds more like an exclusive club than an open, public forum.
He's just excited about his new toy. Haven't you ever been excited?

Thats not what Im saying at all.
I just think if people want to promote something or inform others about how good it is then they need to be more descriptive than just saying it does what they want and its better than any other option out there. |

But he didn't say (in absolute terms) that it was better than any other option, just better for what he wants.
So maybe we should ask cooky just what it is that he was wanting when he chose the Raptor kit.... your turn cooky! BTW I'll try to be a bit more descriptive and informative when I fit mine. I posted in another thread that I was particularly interested in seeing what (if any) gains were to be had between 2000 and 3000rpm so I'd posted some NA 0-60ft times for my car on AFF to do "before" and "after" figures. I just realised that not everyone here has access to AFF, so I'll repost the numbers here too.
