"LOL" - waste of time, just up the boost, get a Process West/Plazmaman/Nizpro intake plenum and a good intercooler + a few other little things then hello easy 350rwkw and good luck to your drive line

Good tune opening up exhaust etc the usual mods..
Yes it sounds like these mods are oriented for upper power levels.. But the turbo spools quick at lower rpm also.. The less back pressure it has and the more exh manifold pressure.. The quicker it will spool... Keep in mind traction!! Don't listen to people about spool and turbo's N/A engines are all lag!!! Its just that when boost - power comes on... It seems slow before and bloody fast when it does!!! What can help if you DON'T want max power is raising initial compression... I wouldn't do this UNLESS an FORGED rotating assembly is fitted.. A 9.5 to 1 engine at 300rwkw is quicker to drive than a 8.5 to 1 300rwkw.. There's less power transition between off boost and on boost.. But remember you don't want to be on boost all the time as you'll be using way too much fuel etc.. If the cars an auto it can be spooled up on converter, power is virtually instant !! Take it easy turbo power is alot faster than you think as its so bloody quiet, you reach a corner or intersection way quick....Trust me!! Respect the torque and power !!!

thanks for a decent answer
thats why i figured i would do all the things u would do to an n/a car so i had power with out having to use extreme amounts of boost, coz my cars 100kg's less is that going to make traction a bigger problem or hav i got an edge against the ba xr6t? once i have the engine i will probs stop the power at 350rwkw or so and more so focuse on the suspension and fats at the back and some brakes that actualy work whats the cost involved to get me at 350rwkw not including the engine its self

ask these questions again when you get the engine, cause it depends what motor you get.
also i think you are dreaming a little bit.

There is different ways of tuning a car also, a lot of the cars you hear of with 350rwkw are tuned specifically for dyno numbers, big boost coming on and making power up top, where as a "grip tune" will deliver a smoother more radius'd torque curve that will be lower on top end rwkw but in the real world of the drag strip it is possible for a lower kw better tuned car to run a much better time. as EBXR8380 has said there is a lot of mods to get the turbo spooling quicker at lower revs allowing you to "drive" the car off the line and torque your way down the track rather then everything coming on in a flurry and starting to damage the driveline in the process. (I'm talking street cars here, not drag only with massive convertors and low gears, different kettle of fish altogether).
On a side note, for the $6500 your about to spend on the barra engine you could have a well sorted and tuned turbo set up on your original motor that will make more power then the XR6T engine in standard trim, as it will be when you first put it in, you will have to spend a lot more money afterwards to make the sort of power you are after. just a thought. If you really want some honest feedback head to your local drag strip, every time there is a street meet anywhere in Aus nowadays there will be a XR6T running, ask the guys out there doing the numbers what combo they have and roughly how much it cost them, research is free where as you can pay for a rushed decision for years... let us know how you go.

Sinan (HiBoost) has run a 9.6@143mph in an EL Falcon built by Rajab Racing. This time was run using an EL GLi 3.08:1 diff with a Mini-Spool. Also, this was run at Heathcoate Raceway. The axles used were, AFAIK, factory EL GLi axles. Facts good enough to prove you wrong?

i was recomended the ba xr6t rather than turboing my engine because my engine would need a replacment of so many diffrent things coz its hit the 200k mark
and the turbo start price is 5grand from him ( altho thats with complete reliablity ) and doesnt the barra have more potential? i would much rather have drvability than a drag time and a dyno reading, and yer i cant ask any one at drag strips about s**t because we dont have one here what sort of figures would i be getting from a kit worth 6,500 grand do u think, coz i was told something more like 250rwkw, but not all that reliable. pretty much in the end im going for something that has the most potential and a awsome 0-100time
