What kind of power is your AU making?

What are the prices for the 6 cyl ford kits?

Hey Tim ...Mark here from Perth, we've had a few chats recently about my Red EL XR6 with JMM DEV 5.

I'm poised patiently to see how you're going with a Raptor Kit to suit EF / EL's.

A few questions have been loosely brought up here about the Raptor V ...and I am interested to hear your responses...

1. At what rpm does boost start to come in, and how smoothly is it delivered?

2. Being a Centrifugal-type blower, does the Raptor V deliver boost in much the same fashion as a Turbo?

3. Is the Raptor V internally lubricated like the Vortech?

4. What is the likelihood of belt slip with your kits?

5. I've seen the video of the Raptor V powered EB XR8, and to me it seemed excessively 'whistly' at idle etc. Does the whistle die down at all ...say, after a run-in period? And how does the whistle volume compare to a Powerdyne / Vortech?

6. How far away are you realistically from the official release of an EF / EL Raptor kit?

Would appreciate your responses on the above ...and also some regular updates on how things are progressing towards E-series Raptor kits!

Cheers mate.

Who's interested in an EA to EL setup?
By the way, I think some of the question will be answer promptly via PM as it might cause a conflict of interest with forum guidelines. Tim would love to reply openly but hes keeping it to a minimal for now.

Again, who would like to see an Aussie made charger for a EA-EL?

That's an EFI XF? The ultimate stealth machine 8-). Is that a catch can on the firewall on the passenger's side of the engine?

I wish my vortech sounded like that on idle.....

Honestly its about time there was a decent alternative to the Capa gear for fords, Holden have severally different brands of aftermarket blowers (eaton, yella terra, whipple) and the 6's have the m90 supercharged 6, with just a manifold and blower conversion.

The STA blowers that used to be about were average to say the least, So far there has been nothing but good comments for Raptors. My next car will have one on the side I think. :P

I'm definitely leaning towards an intercooled Raptor V kit for my car.

I've had plenty of people say stuff like...

"You should go Turbo instead of SC ...more power"
"Go with a Vortech, it's a better and more proven product"

But seriously, there are a few too many Turbo E-series finding their way onto WA roads now.

I want to do something DIFFERENT ...an intercooled 9-10 psi Raptor V combined with my DEV 5, all retuned with the Eliminator Chip.

And besides ...how is a product supposed to prove itself if no-one gives it a go? I haven't heard any complaints from the Commodore camp so far..

I like the idea of NOT having to remove my DEV gear, along with the obvious ease of install and tuning (and later removal if required) ...plus lower underbonnet temperatures compared to a Turbo set-up.

Tim at Raptor told me I can expect to add approximately 70 rwkw to my current 161 rwkw N/A figure, and shave a minimum of a second off my current 14.59 sec 1/4 mile time ...so anywhere in that ballpark will do me very nicely.

Basically ...I want a shmick, reliable, sweet all-round performer that sounds like this:

Loving that SC whine!

Tim is more then happy to do a group buy. hes trying to sort something up. If you guys are willing to wait a bit longer he'll have a kit ready for the E-series. maybe by then, he'll merge the "R" into the i6 as well. that takes time plus enough people gaining more interest in the product to make it worthwhile for him as well.

Raptor is a Australian made product. I'll definitely buy it!

I'm thinking of purchasing a under drive pulley kit from BPT{site sponsors} in the near future. I guess I'm going to have to install an over drive pulley on the S/C to compensate. I'll probably loose 2 to 4 psi if I was to use the standard 9psi pulley that comes with the raptor kit, is that right?

who has the CFM rating on the raptor "R". it says they are capable of 17psi or more, but on what engine size?. at least with the R, you'll have room to play with it. under drive it as much as you want or up the boost as you mod your engine to cope.

if I can get an answer for the above, I'll stick with the V as its a tested & proven kit form.

thats a little too noisy for my liking.

If its gonna be that noisy, then you'd wanna get it all engineered cause it aint very stealth. :)
