Engine is stock, but will be recieving a stroker kit in the future, looking for 8psi at first then wid up later on when engine is built up... budget is $1500 for turbo alone. Should i go internal or external wastegate? What size turbo? Where should i look to purchase one?

the t04z would be great turbo for a street driven 5l.
1.15 turbine would be good.

I have a garrett GT51r on mine, T04Z would be good but there's only about $125 difference in the price and the GT51r is bigger.

Be prepared to spend money, lots of it cause unfortunately turbo V8's don't come cheap. I wouldn't be bolting one onto a stock engine with 8psi cause the head gasket will go within weeks.

Where do you plan to get your exhaust manifolds made up?

What other specs do you have in mind......
Injectors....?
Exhaust.....?
Fuel pump...?.
Fuel Reg....?
Aftermarket management....?

How does the 51R go mate?

What power are you making at what boost? etc?

Which rear housing are you using? When does it come on boost?

51r goes real good, making 250rwkw on 8psi, tuning still has to be done cause it was burning leads on the exhaust manifold, couldn't get some decent time on 8 cylinders. 1.06 rear housing, comes on boost around 2400rpm, full boost by about 3400rpm......in the next couple of weeks it will see about 10psi, more tuning which will hopefully be good for 300rwkw or a tad more, goes back in tomorrow

Awesome! Ive got the same turbo for my BA motor. I hadnt seen any other results for one though.

Sounds like it is a good match for the 5 litre.

Let me know how it goes with more boost.
