Anyone with any suggestions for top and second ring gap for my 600rwhp turbo engine.
From my reading the concensus now is to run a larger second ring gap. I read in a couple of Ford mags JMM run 16thou top and around 19 thou second while Mikes Dyno 10 sec White EA runs 29thou (its seems that was for both rings).

you need to run a bigger second ring gap to let pressure past the second ring faster then it can get past the first ring.
if the pressure equalizes on both sides of the top it will not seal. genneral rule for turbo engines is 6 thou per inch of bore, then give the second ring about 3 thou more |

My V8 runs .026 top and .028 bottom ring...
On a 6 ?? .024 should do it.... Plasma rings...

Thanks, I have been doing some more research on the net. Will probably do about 18 thou top and 22 thou second ring.
