We would love the mustang down here, We also recon that you guys would probably like our Cars too though. The new Falcons (FPV) have a 270Kw Turbo 6 and a 290Kw V8 In both Sedan and Ute (read: large mini truck)

The mustang would fill the Gap for ford not having a Coupe - which their main compeditor Holden (GM) has with the Monaro (Pontiac GTO - It is made here) However the Mustangs suspension is alot less refined than both the falcon and the monaro, I remember reading they still do not have Independant rear suspension.

The other cost to getting the mustangs over here would be conversion to Right hand drive, which is probably why ford do not do it. We would end up with a car that is more expensive than a Monaro and less refined - which means that bugger all people would buy one.

Our new V8 engines are cast iron and 5.4 twin cam heads very similar to 4.6 Cobra Mustang heads...
With 6 speed auto or T5/6 manual..The irs is quite sophisticated suspension, not that trailing arm crap..
The weak link as with earlier irs Mustangs is the C.V joints.. But the issues with them is usually drag racing or a fair amount of abuse....

A standard Stang GT will set you back $120k aus whilst a blown one will set you back $150k. Too much money for what they are. Also some interesting reading. The 2001 cobra SVT which Tickford imported here retailed for around the 85k mark back then. You can pick up the tickford cars now for 28k or there abouts, something to think about.

Yeah they are way overpriced. If i was going to get a new stang id go for the Saleen extreme one. 550bhp and 525 lbs-ft which is roughly 410kw and 711nm. I worked it out to be $90,000 plus the whole import fees ect.

bloody awesome mate. I always wanted a mustang but they are so expensive here. From factory, how is the exhaust/headers and intake. Do you guys often modify the ECU tune for better results or are they pretty good stock.

They have very strict emission laws over there, less power less emission. a small majority of sports car owners rely heavily on aftermarket go fast parts. you gotta realize that the US has the most aftermarket then anywhere in the world so it isn't hard to pick your type of preference in the power department.
