I occaisionally use BP Ultimate, and have never seen my plugs any colour other than a light tan. I regularly use Vortex 98. Having said that, a new set of plugs might be the cure of my intermittent missing issue........

yea new plugs are on the list.. even though the ones i used were iridiums they have been in 2 engines and done about 40'000+ kms..
they have had a far amount of punnishment, as in alot of pinging and fouling up from when i first fitted the supercharger and having a bodgy tune... |

I only use the other mob if my tank is near empty on the long haul across country. how would you know if the premium stuff is in short supply but unwittingly fill up with substitute mixture of low grade unleaded with a dose of octane booster? LOL 95% of the time I only use Ultimate but you never know because I'm encountering a slight misfire and rough idle at times.

I do take your point tho'...we are at the mercy of the petrol giants... FWIW...BP Ultimate is worth a few more Kms on the highway. Currently getting around 14L/100km with Vortex.......I get a staff discount thru Woolies/Caltex.....hehehe.. Daz

I think mine just needs replacing because it's the original iridium that came with the ute.
Lucky bugger with his stuff discount.

Not much point approaching the servo even if it is proven to be contaminated, they simply don't care, not really an industry renowned for after sales service. I've had success with a few servos with getting them to pay for repairs after contaminated was found. |

Is your intercooler piping mild steel? Could be some contamination in your piping.
