Well it's like this, i was interested in the cappa group buy but the pricing is a little too above my wallet's capabilities, so for those of us in the same situation i've managed to sort out a group buy with Jeoff from snortperformance. The basic kit comes with everything the cappa version does including the Vortec 6-9 psi head unit, walbro high flow pump, vortec smu, intake/boost hoses, pullies and brackets.

All of this is covered by a three year warranty and all we need is another five of us to go in to have a group buy purchase of $4,300 each. Thats a grand less than cappa's offer and i'm pretty sure the powerdyne unit is heaps quieter and possibly more reliable due to having an internal belt drive instead of a gear set like the vortec. I'm still trying to screw him down for a better price or more gear but i require lots more interest before that will happen. Have a think about it guys' and let me know what you think or what you want in the kit. Cheers!

That is a fantastic price... where was snort 2 years ago lol.

re: powerdyne reliability.. possibly not more so than vortech... keep the powerdyne within its limits and it will treat you well.

Do you know where snort are sourcing the superchargers from? CAPA actually dismantle and rebuild with better quality bearings and belts... may be that jeff is sourcing the units from CAPA, in which case it'll all be taken care of :)

vortech owns the powerdyne as far as superchargers go!

does it come with *everything* like the capa kits? every bolt, bracket etc and instructions??

He said that it comes with everything but that's a good question which i will ask just to make sure. So are you guys telling me that powerdyne is a good thing or a bad thing when compared to the vortec unit? They will be all brand new componentry and i will ask him where he's sourcing them from. I don't think it will be from cappa though. Still, even if it's missing a blow off valve or something i can't ignore the price.

f**k me

if thats a vortech (not a PD) and that a complete kit as capa's is then im gonna have to give it some serious thought, seeing capa's vortech kits are close to 8k?

was gonna pass up on the capa group buy cause cant really spare the cash. but this might just be the best offer ever :| would be interested to see what the bracket is like and if it includes a piggy back chip, im guessing not.

when did snort start doing superchargers?

I just got off the phone from jeoff and he tells me that we are better off going for the vortec unit as the powerdyne is only good for 6-9 psi compared to the vortec which is able to supply 20psi. So for the same price even though the vortec is dearer we will have this instead of the weaker powerdyne unit. To answer if the kit comes with everything, yes it comes with the entire bolts and all deal. I find out more tomorrow.

The one that isn't the quiet one, i can't say which model for sure yet as jeoff is still in discussion with the supplier. It should end up being the S1 but i can't be sure. 20 psi is what it will support if that gives any clue. Yeah i doubt that price of $4,300 will include a chip but the smu will provide the required mod for 6-9 psi anyway. I'll attempt to include a chip but i think it's a bit of an ask. He said the more people who pay up the better the deal will become, i say sweet!

Steady, the brackets will be 100% perfect along with everything else you'll receive. You should checkout this guy's turbo kit's they're sexy as and all done in stainless. I'll be finding out more over the weekend hopefully and i'll let you all know the progress.

Yeah, I'm familiar with Snorts turbo kits, I had considered that option a while ago.
I'm taking a guess that it's the Vortech V-1 S-trim that will be in his kit.
The Vortechs require a seperate oil feed and drain too, because of their gear driven compressor

If thats all brackets, a New Vortech V1 S-Trim, Walbro fuel pump and other bits a pieces, thats a damn good price.
The Vortech's are just a couple of bucks under 3k themsleves, then you've got around $1,400 for the brackets and pullies.
Good price, if it all goes ahead...

If they're 100% complete kits (piping (s/c to t/b), oil feeds, misc bolts and fittings etc) then this is a VERY attractive proposition.
The Vortech unit will provite a lot more expandability.
Whats the go with things like intercooling/water injection.
the vortech kits from capa require water injection standard, so is this considered or is it along the lines of the turbo setups where charge cooling and piping is a seperate issue?

Keep in mind that Vortech S1's are F**k loud. Expect to get alot of attention of both the good and bad sort.

Good price though - not sure how they do them so cheap.

*Touch wood* I haven't had any bad publicity from my blower being very loud.
Everyone looks and stares, when they hear it, but the Cops around here are fairly good, so long as you're not acting like a d***head.
But yes they are VERY Loud...
