G'day, just looking for some advice that may lead me down the right path.
Me and the missus are lookin/close to buying a supercharged AU, the specs are as follows.- Powerdyne Charger.
- Piggy Back Chip.
- Rising Rate Fuel Reg.
- Extractors.
- 3" Mandrel Bent.
- Water Injection
- K n N Boxed Pod.
- Shift Kitted 4spd.
- Claimed 210kw@rw @ 9PSI.

What I wanted to know is what would be the max PSI you could run at? To intercool or not to intercool? BOV be any help? Should the trans hold and what is the safe max of power you could put through the 4spd before it gave up? Also diff gearing any ideas.
Any other suggestions as I would really like to put this into the low 12's.
As it stands now would it be a possible 13 sec pass?

probably 6-8 psi max (safely) or u could try beyond that with a smaller pulley.

Stepping up to a vortech will get u more gains as well as reliability as the powerdyne is a sealed unit.

a powerdyne will only got to 9PSI maximum.

i think the claimed rwkw is a little generous. capa 9psi kits pull a 240fwkw claimed, so about 170rwkw, another 40 rwkw is a fairly big claim.

so way you will get into low 12's with a powerdyne @ 9psi.

as it stands, you may be tipping a high 13, perhaps 13.8-13.9

As said, the Powerdyne's wont run at more than 9 PSI.
The car has water injection, so there's probably not a huge benfit in intercooling.
A BOV is a good idea, to help preserve the life of the blower, but wouldn't help you gain any extra kw's.
Depending on what diff gears it has, would help/hindfer the quarter mile times of course, also a hi-stall wouldn't go astray.
If its getting the numbers they say, then it should be good for anything between a 13.6 and above, depending on driver/diff gears/tyres, etc

ok then, what gearing would you recommend. where would be the best place to plumb in the BOV? What about NOS is it recommended?

I forgot to ask about cam, comp, and heads. Would a custom grind cam be my best bet? What power range would yeild the best results. Compression, should it be lowered? Easiest to use two gaskets? Heads maybe a tickford head? Also what about injectors?
TY again fellas been helpful so far!!!!

Actually i forgot to ask, is the AU a 6 or an 8?
The BOV would be mounted before intake pipe into the throttle body.
I don't think NOS is recommended, it is an option, but not sure how the motor would cope with the blower and NOS, not to mention the driveline...
For diff gears, you could go for something like a 3.7 to a 4.11 as its auto, but it really depends if you're after a strip car or a daily driver too.
I running average times, but i still have 3.23's, so my launches are slow, but i wouldn't go above 3.7's in a manual. Well not for the strip anyway.

it is a six it was built by Redcliff Dyno, the bloke I may be purchasing off said that he is sure that there was some bottom end changes, but he is not sure what they were. Im hoping Redcliff may have an idea on what was done. Yeah i just wanted to know how far away from the TB the BOV should be or doesnt it matter. and it is an auto.

I would be finding out all the info on the car before you bought it. Find out what bottom end work has been done.

I think that power figure is quite optimistic with just the mods mentioned in your first post. I could be (and hope I am) wrong about that. I don't know the 6s very well at all.

If it has weaknesses, find out what they are and what they are worth to fix.

Seen a copy of the dyno sheet today and it says 286 HP (213.2kw) @ the treads. So for now i'll take that on face value. But really 11K for a 98 AU TE-50 bodykit, resprayed, Tickford mags with 100,000 on the clock plus its supercharged really ya can't do it any cheaper!

Sounds like a straight-up CAPA job mate. I would happily entrust my $$$ into a car with a capa powerdyne kit. Even at 9psi - they are fairly easy on the motor.

No intercooler required, water injection will keep the detonation monster at bay.

BTW they are limited to RPM, not boost levels. Obviously more RPM = more boost.

What do you mean it's Falkeens old AU??

If there was something wrong with it i'd be liable to inform you of it not make a sarcastic comment about. So what the problem with it??

back off man, don't get so agresive, i've never known LG to be an a***hole so i doubt he's being sarcastic.

Do a search for Falkeen on AFF (might be a member here too, not sure)
he also works for AWC, he upgraded to an XR8 so i doubt theres anything wrong with it.
or atleast i doubt LG would know of anything being wrong with it.
