ok so i havnt been with the fords for about a year now.

last time i was on here i had my stock as a rock EF mont from when i was 17.

im buying a EL FAIRMONT GHIA on saturday of a bloke in perth.

its got a sprintex supercharger on it with pacemakers, 2.5inch exhaust, king springs, el gt rims bla bla.

and just had a $4000 grand rebuild done on the engine.

not to mention its only done 157,000kms on the car.

what sought of power am i looking at. it is a GHIA so its got the xr6 goodies and the supercharger has been running on the car for 5years with no issues, only on around 4psi atm.

how much power could i see from this system? and has anyone gone down the supercharger track before with these cars?

any info please.

cheers

sprintex?

not a common supercharger to be fitted to a falcon, normally fitted to magna's :P

interested to see some shots of the setup.

yeah its mounted above the extractors, was fitted in 05 by a company in perth. got $2500 back then? so cant be that fantastic.

not as quick as you would think. needs a really good tune and probably intercooling done.

honestly it doesnt have that much of a whine to it. you really wouldnt be able to tell that its supercharged.

the guy said it was a sprintex, but who knows it may not be.

ill delve much deeper into it all when its in my driveway :)

stupid loan approval time :(

so if its only 4psi you wont get huge power from it..
if you can up the boost you will notice a nice improvement..

well where talking a reconditioned tickford 6 here with the 3.45 diff etc. the motor has less then 20,000km's on the rebuild.

and well it doesnt feel at all that faster off the line then my old EF. and that was a standard 6 with 250,000k's on it.

but once it gets further up the gears you can really tell theres something a little different going on. the shift kit launchs it up the speedo a good 10km/h+ in just a gear change.

i really only bought it because everything is there for it to be a quick solid car.

just the previous owner really wasnt at all that interested in improving it further.

so does anyone have any ideas on how you tune these superchargers? i think you can put on a smaller blower wheel would would help it out a bit. but other then that, its beyond me. have to be done by a shop ovbiously.

and yeah its got an aftermarket ECU.. may only be a piggy back sought of thing though. just saw it kind of sitting there all nice and flush with a bunch of wires.

I'd wait till you get it, get some shots up and give us more details on what its got.
we'll be able to give a better indication then.

it was up on carsales, but hes taken the ad down now because its mine :) hehe.

still im not to worried, will sought it out and get some more power out of it. theres a guy in perth who runs 10's with a sprintex haha. so its got potential.

end of the day. $4700 for a clean straight as a dime 97 ghia, not complaining

its got detailed service history and receipts for all the mods.

heres a picture of it from the outside

number plate is FTE4LTR. anyone seen it before?? or know anything about it haha.its not on any forums.
