You whip manual ba xr6's? They are quick especially for that weight they carry all he had was an xr6t exhaust as well.
I'll expand on the story. We were at the lights, and when when changed we both went, I was a tad bit slower and he hopped me, but I was dead level next to him when he hit the brakes and it was over.
I don't know how reliable g-techs are, but the manual xr6 is "quoted" at 14.8. So I think its a fair effort.
Yes i would like some tall diff gears. But I don't like the idea of having some diff gears out of another car in my diff.
And I've gotta get my EMS 4424 V4 put in so I can race :P

How does that work i'v beatin every BA 6 that iv come up against and mine has a 3.08diff

what do you get out of first......im very surprised if your car does what it does....sounds like a freak if you ran 4.11's you would go ALOT better.

Oh, For the record With the old 3.08 SS in it and NO extractors or cat, I ran a best of 2.91 or something as a 60" so I can imagine my take off isn't too bad with the 3.45's.Ii highly doubt ill be seeing a 2.00 60" with 3.9's in so it's not really worth the hassle also. If that makes any sense?

I can only go on what he says. For all I know, the g-tech may be s**t, he has intake and a flash and isn't telling me and we're both capable of 14.5's..... I wish :P

3.45's max first at 79km/h at the 5700 limiter.
3.23's do about 88..
3.08 i woulda thought 90+!!
The 4.11's do about 68 at 5700.

i think they call it torque... and being on full boost by about 2000rpm

actual figures for v6S and 5.7

VT S 1611kg 1/4 = 15.36
statesman V8 1735kg 1/4 = 14.83

thats not even a fair comparison as the statesman is 124kg heavier but proves that the V8 is much faster

Remember that the super V6 came out while the 5.0 was being used. And it's torque that equates to acceleration, you just want the torque to be made at as higher RPM as you can :)

so what would win provided they were in the same weight vehicle....turbo diesel with a heap of torque but say only 150kw or a F1 2.4 V8 with no torque but 600kw....assume gearing provides similar in gear speeds

You missed my point. Torque over a period of time is measured in Kw. If you can make 300nm @ 3,000 rpm, and 300nm @ 6,000 rpm, you are making twice as much energy at 6,000 rpm. Hence, you want to make as much torque (twisting energy) at as higher rpm (make this energy as frequently as possible) to maximise acceleration.

Think of it as your legs being an engine.. Each leg makes a certain amount of torque, and the faster you can use them, the faster you run.

I beg to differ. The supercharged 6 from the holden will punish a pre BA xr8. They dont have high kw but a big fat torque curve.

Take one on at the lights, they will run away from you to about 70km/h by 2 lengths, I dont think you will catch them.

I know my brother bought one new and i had a ford V8, diff gears done, cam, extractors, computer etc. the supercharged 6 still ran away off the mark. If you dont have all the mods like I did you wont catch it.

They are one of the fastest cars 0-70km/h on the market. no bull

Your V8 must of been rooted becuause i have raced 3 supercharged VT's (2 calais's and an S). All 3 times neck an neck untill about 90 then i started to pull away, except for the S which we were neck an neck untill 110k then i started to pull away.
